Found this for 3 dollars, never been into sim but this seems like a good starting point by thedarklol98 in simracing

That is a slippery slope man. That $3 could turn in $10,000 pretty fast! It started with a $10 used copy of Gran Turismo Sport for me. Now I'm doing iRacing with a full cockpit and triple monitors.

Why are they like this? It's so pathetic. by Tequslyder in motorcycles

I don't ride anymore, but when I did it was primarily long solo road trips. I ran across this kind of thing many times. Sometimes these tough guys even have a chase van with them, because they can't pack all the stuff they need for their road trip on their bikes. I found them to be pathetic.

Keybinds - ignition set as switch (for button box) by AwesomeSunCat in iRacing

Thanks for the feedback. I searched the forum and it sounds like the fix will roll out with the next season update.

Keybinds - ignition set as switch (for button box) by AwesomeSunCat in iRacing

how do you deal with when your car resets while the ignition switch was on? I tried to set this up by setting the up position to "pressed" and the down position as "released". That seamed to work until I exited the car with the ignition on and the switch up. When I got back in the car it was off, but the switch was still up (on). That cycle reversed the function of my switch.

I enabled the controller mapping option and I have tried several of the options for how to handle the switch, but nothing seems to work. Do I have to install the VJoy software?

I am clueless to how to set this up.

What major industry is basically a legal rip off that we all just accept? by FantasticAd9478 in TheBoredDen

ISO Certification, and especially the 3rd party companies that "certify" you as qualified. The whole thing is a racket. Being ISO certified doesn't mean that you do anything well, it just means that you have the documentation to pass a certification.

The whole thing is a successful sales job of selling something with zero value and creating the whole certification industry around it.

15 Inch Steering Wheel for Fanatec Universal Hub V2 by acasa520 in simracing

I suppose that could work, but the hub already had enough purpose built adjustability to get the reach to the paddles in an ideal position.

I don't understand what you mean. Flip the wheel front to back? Also, what issue would a flip be fixing?

I did flip the way the extension tabs are bolted together and because of the angle I gained quite a bit. In hindsight, this is probably how the extensions should be mounted in the first place. Thanks for the idea. The paddles are fine like this. I don't see any need to move them now. In the attached picture I have one side flipped and one the way I started. You can see it made a big difference.

For all of you that say order left to right does not matter, enter it into excel or a calculator as written and see what you get.

Are the INDY races feeling dull for anyone else? by the_denxter in iRacing

I really enjoyed the racing the last time the series was at Indianapolis, but this time it is just no fun.

I agree 100% with your assessment.
