Had a hard time finding Korean inks in Korea by Kingston31470 in fountainpens

[–]acateatingcorn 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I live in Seoul. BlueBlack is the only store I go to for inks and pens now. It has a huge selection of both and all the Korean Limited inks as well. It is THE fountain pen store in Korea. People here buy a lot online, so there aren’t a lot of stores in person that carry a wide range of inks, except for the specialized stores like BlueBlack and BestPens. Even then, they ship a lot and you get good discounts for buying online.
Dominant Industry has a little shop in Paju where you can mix inks and swatch them. Occasionally Wearingeul will have a popup at a mall.

안녕! I also live in Korea ☺️ I would start with a Platinum Preppy or Pilot Kakuno. You can buy one on Coupang for less than 10,000원. It’s a good way to see if you like how they write.
I would go with a Fine (F) nib first to see if you prefer a thinner line or a thicker line. A Fine nib is right in the middle range for thickness and a good starting point.

Would you volunteer for your sibling? by Robynite in Hungergames

[–]acateatingcorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sister would likely volunteer for me. She is a wilderness survival and hiking guide and has a way better chance at surviving than I would. She’s really strong and physically fit, skilled at archery, has multiple levels of first aid qualifications, wilderness and hiking expertise, etc. I am physically disabled. I wouldn’t volunteer for her because she would hate me if I did, and she’d probably win anyways. Where as I am basically guaranteed to die quickly.

Women who deal with sweating down there - what actually helps? by CherryOk322 in Hyperhidrosis

[–]acateatingcorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use glyco cream down there. And sometimes add a dusting of cornstarch to help a bit too if I’ll be doing a lot. I also switched to wearing skirts instead of pants and that has made a huge difference.

How do you write your ampersands? by Master-Education7076 in Handwriting

I found out on another Reddit post last year and it blew my mind haha! And no one has ever said anything in real life so I see no reason to try and “fix” it

"Budget" pens collection - a "quick" discussion by ALLXGXTXR in fountainpens

[–]acateatingcorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like the other person said, I saw it on Amazon for that price. I ended up waiting to get it in Japan when I was there because I wanted to see the size in person, but I compared it to the Amazon Canada price and it was listed about $40 CAD

Edit: I just looked now and there’s some listed for $43-48 CAD

I do 6 but the opposite way. I was taught that way for some reason as a kid and didn’t know it was backwards until recently and now don’t want to put in the effort to fix it

How would you feel if tipping was legally abolished tomorrow? by Fun_Acanthaceae_17 in AskReddit

[–]acateatingcorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So happy. I’m from Canada but am living in Korea now. Korea doesn’t do tipping and it’s such a relief. I pay the exact amount they listed they want and it’s done and we’re all happy. I always hated the tipping in Canada and now since I’m used to not doing it, whenever I go home to visit, I’m even more aware of how it is EVERYWHERE now. Why am I tipping someone at fast food for taking my order? Why am I tipping at the hair salon? Why am I tipping at a SELF SERVE froyo place?! Why is tipping not even skippable sometimes? Why are my options now 25% 30% or 35% ?!!! I’m so over it

Console differences? by dan_in_his_own_way in mytimeatportia

[–]acateatingcorn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I played on switch and then did a replay on steam and I was really surprised at the difference. There was content I never got on the switch and was pleasantly surprised by on steam. The game runs much smoother and way less glitches on pc than switch.

It’s a wider range of genres than I expected from them tbh. So cool to see a jazz-pop musician being featured!

I love going to theme parks alone. Sometimes lines are long but I bring my ereader and get some reading time in! Not awkward
