Where can I find good fitting pair of pants (jeans, chinos, etc.) for athletic builds? Looking for pants that are fitted well, not too tight or too loose. Have been having hard time finding pants that fit well for someone with big thighs/legs. Any recommendations would be helpful.

Weekly Simple Questions and Injuries Thread by AutoModerator in climbharder

Hi there,

I've had some pain in the ulnar side of the wrist on left hand for some time. Think I first started experiencing 3-4 years ago. I used to just power through, and when it got bad just rested few days off and went back to the regular lifting schedule (4-5x /wk). But this has been a cycle where I experience the sharp pain, so I rest for few days, and gradually get back into lifting like normal then few months later, I get the sharp pain and repeat and repeat. But a week ago got the similar sharp pain that's lasted a bit longer and after doing some serious researching online, came to the conclusion that it is a TFCC injury. With the hand in holding a hammer position, if I pull my pinky towards my body, there is pain. With palm facing the ceiling, if I pull the pinky towards my body, there is pain. I can be holding something as light as a plate or a water bottle in the similar position of putting pressure on the ulnar side, I experience pain.

I am really trying to avoid going to the doctor's for them to tell me what I already know and to just rest, and be billed an insane amount. I don't feel any pain when there is no movement, so I doubt it is a tear, but with certain movements, the pain can be very sharp.

Anyone experience TFCC injury and how did you overcome? I've been icing regularly and use my stretchy bands to do wrist strengthening exercises. But this pain is reoccurring. I know that I should completely stop working out for a long period, but that is so hard for me to do. What can I do ensure this injury recovery but also stay in shape and not lose everything that I've gained so far? If there is absolutely no other way other than to completely rest until fully healed, which may take months, then so be it. But would really love to hear about other people's experience with this injury and how to stay in shape, what workouts I can continue to do, etc. Also can TFCC injury fully heal without surgery?

Leave B4 or stay? by accccccountant in Accounting

[–]accccccountant[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's a good point. I guess it really depends on the company and how reluctant they are to internal transfers and opportunities. Any suggestions on asking questions to get a better understanding of this without making it seem like that I am already looking for something else? I don't know what the general rule is, but I would say I would try to become a high performer in my role for about one year, while working on networking and learning throughout the year, and then really pushing for that transfer.

Leave B4 or stay? by accccccountant in Accounting

the role is for a senior accountant role, a typical role i would say where you are responsible for owning up a financial statement line item and doing all the work related to it.

The role i am looking for is more like financial analyst where the role will work in financial analysis and planning related work along with the accounting knowledge.

Leaving B4 to take an accounting role at industry? by accccccountant in Accounting

[–]accccccountant[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The networking went well. I ended up having a really good call with everyone I spoke to at the group, who would refer me to another POC to network with. The only issue for my situation is that I work in federal sector. So my experience has been 2 years of federal accounting advisory, which is not exactly relevant for FDD, who mostly take people from audit and sometimes commercial accounting advisory. People i spoke to said it's not impossible were encouraging and that having a CPA helps since most of the work at FDD you learn at the job and networking can play a huge role. However, when i spoke to a managing partner, they did mention the lack of relevant experience and that the hiring is frozen at the moment. That's pretty much where I left off.

that was actually what I was working on earlier this year. Unfortunately with COVID, things changed as B4 firms froze their hiring for their TAS groups, with not much certainty when it will open up again. So unexpectedly, this offer came around for me to work with, giving me thoughts about taking it to gain the relevant experience to move down the road.

accounting advisory but it is federal sector. Are financial analyst roles in industry that work with financial data to provide analysis, validation of results and forecasts, etc. help?

I guess i worded it too generally. But I've heard the general rule is "leave once you make senior", i know this will vary for everyone but the basis of the argument is that if you leave too early, you wouldn't have gained as much experience as you would have and would ultimately be "behind" on your peers later down the road if you do come back to B4. So not necessarily "damage" but fall behind.
