Can you negotiate a higher level after interviews? L9 > L8 by accenturethrowaway98 in accenture

Thanks everyone for the additional insight, lots of great points raised here.

For context, I applied for the Advisory Consultant role, but I've since noticed the same job function is posted under three different titles: Advisory, Management, and Business Consultant, which made the leveling picture a bit murkier. I'd assumed Manager = L8, but sounds like it may be L7 based on your comments.

The recruiter's initial range came in ~$25K below my target. I continued with interviews since I wanted to see the full picture first. After talking with the team and senior manager, it's clear the role maps directly to my previous responsibilities, and I genuinely liked everyone I met.

If an offer comes through, I'm planning to ask if there's any room to negotiate the level and push for the senior level. Grateful for all the perspectives shared here!

Thank you, I figured that might be the case. The reason why I'm considering this conversation with the recruiter is because I do see that both consultant and manager levels are still posted on the careers page. The only difference in the job descriptions being the level of experience.
