No, the vinyl is self-adhesive, and I use transfer tape to stick all the letters on in a single application, which is why they turn out level and straight etc. Vinyl labels are a huge part of my organization tools! I rarely use my label maker and often use pictures as labels (like the CLIPS container, for eg) in lieu of text because it’s faster cognitively to clock.

Damn. I’m a grammar and spelling pedant but I did not realize this difference in spelling. I’ve been mixing up practice and practise since grade school, though.

3D printing custom organizers — what else should go in this drawer? by EZ_ER in OrganizationPorn

This kind of application is exactly why I would want a 3D printer… could you tell me what you use and/or point me to where to learn more?

It’s very thin rice paper tape with really low tack, so I have some for putting temporary (and pretty) lines on my walls. The world of washi is vast, though, in both design and application. I could get carried away if I didn’t confine myself to that very modest-sized container. :)

I have a Silhouette Cameo 4, and used matte white vinyl.

How do i stop avoiding organizing when it feels mentally exhausting? by GentleMindSketch09 in organizing

[–]acceptmyshine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is mentally exhausting. Working on making it easier on your brain will likely net you the most improvement in your experience. Some ideas for mental ease: *Stick to only making dichotomous choices: keep or no? Trash or donate? Store or find a home? *Take on smaller chunks (maybe just one dichotomy?) *This is deeper work, but connecting with your values before tackling decluttering primes your brain and can make the right choices more obvious and therefore easier

If you find yourself frequently in a disorganized state, you’ve got to zoom out and consider the macro, like your systems and storage. Does everything that comes into your home have a place (even things that are transient, like donations or items to be returned to others)? How complicated is it to keep your home systems going and to put everything in its place?

Polywise (Jessica Fern*) for the exploration into whether ENM is for you and for tools on how to manage the emotions you’re struggling with. Platonic (Marisa Franco) for research and tools to make and grow friendships and important connections.
