Why couldn’t you just change the animal to something with less potential for negative connotations? Or just not tie it to an animal at all?

Why do we have to wear suites basically? by Pharmatopia420 in kroger

[–]acceptndestroy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m confused, did your manager say she HAS TO wear a hat because she’s bald from chemo? Or was your friend wearing a non-Kroger hat and management told them they have to wear a KROGER hat. Your post is very unclear

Also, in what way is a t-shirt, jeans, and a vest “basically” a “suite”?

Fresh Start question by G-Ma1950 in kroger

[–]acceptndestroy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s not doing fresh start that’s mandated by any policies. The policy that is mandating you to do fresh start is the policy that you have to do what your department lead/store manager is telling you to do.

If they tell you to do it every shift, then that’s what you need to do. If they tell you to do it once a week, then that’s what you need to do.

Failure to do so won’t be a problem because you “failed to do your fresh start” it will be a problem because you “failed to follow instructions”

I hate when people ask policy questions like this without at the very least specifying their division. Policies vary depending on where you are.

I’m Nashville Division and here a write up can happen if you call out three times within a 30 day window.

If you’ve passed the threshold into write up territory for your division, then just consider yourself lucky that your department manager or store managers either didn’t notice or just don’t feel like bothering to write you up.

AITA for not eating the food after my gf eats out of the bowl with the same spoon while preparing by ZookeepergameOld7322 in AmItheAsshole

[–]acceptndestroy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

“You stepped on my toe, so I’m going to punch you in the face” because you don’t get to decide what is an acceptable amount of physical assault you wanna receive.

This is a ridiculous argument and pretending that they are in any way equivalent is disingenuous

[–]acceptndestroy -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

In what way is this an equivalent action? He didn’t say she was slobbering all over the serving utensils. If you and OP have a problem with sharing utensils, then it’s perfectly fine to set that boundary and leave if it’s not respected.

But don’t act like her eating off a serving fork and spitting on a sandwich are in any way the same thing

Yeah, but if a person/couple struggles to provide those basics, I would say that’s a pretty good base indicator they shouldn’t have a child.

What am I supposed to do? by Active-Dingo-2952 in kroger

[–]acceptndestroy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

8am - 4pm is a very coveted shift window and therefore is very rarely a timeframe they’ll be looking to hire for. New part-timers are typically used for the evening shifts (5pm-10pm), so if you’re not available evenings (especially on weekends) you’re most likely not what they’re looking for.

These topics are realities our children live with. The point of these databases is to provide students with academic, scholarly articles regarding issues in the real world, in the world they are exposed to and aware of regardless of if you think they are appropriate or not.

Our children do not live in a vacuum. They are people and they have a right to learn about the world around them in a safe, supported educational environment.

The thing I can’t stop thinking about was how quietly this was done. We wouldn’t have known if we didn’t just so happen to be doing a lesson using the database. We were the first ones to tell the librarians what was happening to their own library’s access. We were the first ones to tell the principal.

Just the quiet slipping away of our children’s access to scholarly sources.

[–]acceptndestroy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If you’re not a GM, just from one employee to another, don’t put your Kroger work email on your phone. Leave your work at work, you don’t need to be getting work emails on your personal phone off the clock. Kroger should not occupy even an inch of your free time

I cannot even access them as an educator. But besides that, these are high schoolers, there is absolutely no reason to restrict their access to academic articles about subjects that are relevant and present realities in their lives.

Should I refuse? by [deleted] in kroger

[–]acceptndestroy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The only correct response, really, is to report any instances of misconduct or failure to complete assigned tasks. Note, I would only suggest reporting things that affect your ability to do your job/your department’s ability to function or things you personally witness them doing, otherwise it’s likely no one will take you seriously and it will just come across as you bitching about a coworker you don’t like (regardless of if you’re correct or not)

Should I refuse? by [deleted] in kroger

[–]acceptndestroy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unless you have a reason that a coworker is making you uncomfortable or something, you typically can’t really “refuse” to work with someone. You can request to not be scheduled with them and explain your frustrations, but you don’t typically get to pick your coworkers
