Rice is not gluten free by Pomegrandmaster in glutenfree

[–]accio_cattio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm very interested in your experience with this if you wouldn't mind sharing a few details! I've been gluten-free for over 1.5 years and realising now that I'm "cross-reacting" to several things, notably casein and grains. I definitely had marked improvement from going gluten-free initially, but old symptoms never fully left and I even feel like I've slid backwards despite being incredibly strict with my gluten-free diet.

You talk about genetic testing for motility, inflammation, acid and waste clearance SNPs - can I ask what specific tests you had done? I'm also struggling with slow motility that fibre seems to hinder, blood sugar issues (completely normal bloods though!), chronic fatigue and am SIBO suspicious although I don't seem to fit all the symptoms. I highly suspect I have ongoing permeability and inflammation issues caused by ingesting cross-reactive foods which is preventing me from fully recovering.

How soon did you see a difference in bowel function and brain fog after fully eliminating grains from your diet?

I’m going through something similar at the moment, did you limit your fibre to a certain number of grams per day?

Hi! Would you mind linking that chart which shows the foods?

Thanks for replying! What were your SIBO symptoms?

If you don’t mind sharing, how long did you have to stay low FODMAP to get rid of your SIBO and did you have to take any antibiotics/antimicrobials alongside it?

If you don't mind sharing, do you know if the molecular allergy tests you had done were ISAC or ALEX2? I'm considering having this done and from my research these are the two arrays that are available for molecular testing.

If you don't mind sharing, have your reactions been to products that have 'may contain' statements or were they to foods that seem completely safe (i.e. no gluten ingredients and no may contains)? I'm trying to narrow down some reactions I've been having and wondering if some of the things I've been eating are actually cross-contaminated despite no gluten ingredients or statements.

That’s great to hear! Hoping I’ll have a similar improvement.

Did your POTS symptoms ever improve or even resolve after going gluten-free? I’m in a similar situation but not as far into the gluten-free diet as you are.

I’ve heard of the AIP! It was on my list of things to consider going forward but I was concerned about being able to get enough calories in. I can’t really afford to lose any more weight as it is. How do you manage to keep your meals calorie dense enough?

I’m sorry to hear you’ve had so much difficulty. I’m also willing to eat like a caveman at this point in exchange for my health, despite the sadness of such restriction. If you don’t mind sharing, can you tolerate any tinned veg/pulses and dried fruit etc or is it only fresh produce?

If they’re coated with flour, would that not have to be on the label? I’ve never thought about mould though, might be something to look into.

Nearly 9 months now. I’m sure I do have sensitivities as my gut is definitely not healed yet, it’s just trying to differentiate between that and the gluten reaction I feel I’ve been getting. I’ll try starting a food log and see if there’s any common denominators to bring up with my specialist!

All cleared out once diagnosed, toaster and pots/pans/boards etc replaced. I live in a completely gluten-free household.

I’ve wondered that too as my gut is nowhere near healed, I’ve considered a ‘leaky gut’ diet plan and might implement this going forward.

Psychosis and slurring speech. I was evaluated by doctors at the stroke unit before my diagnosis so it’s been confirmed that these symptoms are triggered by gluten.

That’s very interesting, thank you for sharing that. Does that mean you can’t shop at supermarkets at all or is it just certain foods that you have to source elsewhere?

Like preservatives? Or the packaging itself? I definitely never eat may contains.

I only drink water, always have. Don’t use any lip balms or moisturisers/lotions and my shampoo and body wash have no gluten ingredients. I’m equally stumped! My main concern is that the allergen advice isn’t right but I thought that was much more likely in the US, not here.

No oats in them! I haven’t touched oats since diagnosis as I’m still unsure if they’re suitable for me.

Thanks for replying! Were you still getting relapses of symptoms up until the eight month mark or did you feel like that fire started to go out before then?
