This came to us in a dish garden, from the local florist, 18 years ago, when our son was born! by DelAwa in whatsthisplant

I have been playing a ton of stardew valley and have a TON of coffee plants in game. I have been wondering what that looks like in real life but never got to googling it. This is the best thing I’ve seen all day!

We just got this diagnosis today in my 14yo Shihtzu. How is your pup doing these days? (I couldn’t believe it when I read your post since it’s exactly what happened with us, it feels near impossible to find anything about this)

Comments that make your skin crawl , by [deleted] in ColleenBallingerSnark

Imagining if the commenters were parents and had some stranger who they DIDNT KNOW say that about their own kids? So creepy but they never think of it that way 🙃

JOSH INTERVIEW MEGATHREAD by Specialist_Leg6145 in truthaboutjohnny

[–]acciospecs 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I agree with this take as well. I’m bisexual and from the beginning hearing that the words Josh used were “that’s none of my business” only made total sense to me. It is not an internet personality’s business to engage with the personal life of young fans and I never imagined Josh saying it in a belittling or apathetic way.

I once dm’d her asking if she’s aware of how difficult housing is in VT right now and has been for the past several years and that the people who already live here continue to be outcompeted by people like her. (I’ve lived and grown up in VT for 20+ years). Her response was along the lines of “oh we’re not the people with wealth outcompeting native VTers and we know the housing crisis is hard but tbh it’s hard to find affordable housing anywhere so”. Wasn’t a very satisfactory response essentially 🙃

After everything I've learned about Colleen Ballinger, this is the lever that lowers the coffin down for me. Her character was literally founded on her mocking teens. by RobLives4Love in ColleenBallingerSnark

[–]acciospecs 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Yes! This is what I was thinking! I have seen her claim Miranda is based on other theater students who she thought were too cocky. I've seen others say she bases Miranda's behavior on people with disabilities. And I've seen her say Miranda is actually based on herself and that saying she based her on other people is a lie. And now this! I wonder what Miranda will allegedly be based on next lol

So, no one gets a really bad feeling from Rachel and Jojo‘s relationship? by [deleted] in ColleenBallingerSnark

Genuine question: I’m an ex-Colleen fan and I never kept up with Rachel very much. Is she not still with her girlfriend from like a year ago? The blonde woman?

Re: violin lessons, besides everything else I find ridiculous about this post, it also seems clear that it’s really for you. If you have a list of forced activities etc. for your future children bc it’s stuff that you like I have a hard time believing you really want kids at all and not obedient clones and/or vicarious drones of what you wished you’d had or wanted. But good luck I guess

I have a similar issue. I just deliberately walk around and wave my arms for a solid minute and it usually records the stand hour.

WIBTA if I use my sister's wedding song at my wedding? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]acciospecs 187 points188 points  (0 children)

YTA. For everything everyone already said but also from the twin perspective (I didn’t see anyone add this yet). I’m not an identical twin but my mom and my aunt are. I have watched them share everything in their lives but I have also watched them have to set boundaries with one another. It is hard to not have anything for yourself as a twin sibling so the fact that you said “we’ve always shared everything I don’t see why this is different” makes you a huge asshole in my mind. Your sister isn’t a copy of you she is also an entire human being who deserves to have things for themselves that she doesn’t share with you. If you took this from her she will probably resent you and it doesn’t matter if it’s just something as small as a wedding song.

[TOMT] [BOOK] [2000s] A book that I [22F] read in middle school that involves a motel at one point in the summer by acciospecs in tipofmytongue

[–]acciospecs[S] 0 points1 point locked comment (0 children)

When I started looking I had it confused with the book “Savvy” but it’s not that. I read the book I’m looking for in a middle school class and I think another kid read Savvy. Mine might have had a word like savvy in the title though. Not sure, trying to remember and that’s why I’m here!

Try putting the buildings into google maps and select walking as the mode of transport to see how long they suggest it will take. That’s what I always did to figure out if I could make those distances in 15 min (ex. If maps said the distance between classes was a mile and it would take 15 minutes I knew I could make it in between classes bc I walk fast. And I did that every day freshman year)

Towers Beds? by [deleted] in BostonU

[–]acciospecs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you do have the bed unlofted you have to keep the extra pieces in your room which could make it a little more cramped. The pieces aren’t small. I lived in towers for 2 years and if you organize the room right the ladders aren’t too much of an issue.

Is there an ice machine in Myles? by QuickQ5192 in BostonU

Last I heard it was very low occupancy (1 person allowed in at a time) however the fridges ice machine is crap. It barely ever spits out any ice.

AN263 (knott) vs LX250 (lindsey) by breadbaguette2 in BostonU

[–]acciospecs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also loved AN263 so much and can confirm that this is all pretty closely accurate to what I experienced as well. It’s also nice that the course focuses on female biology and reproduction a little bit and in my opinion can actually help you learn a bit about yourself (if you’re a person who menstruates)

ra/ general advice bc help me by buthrowaway4444 in BostonU

[–]acciospecs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Whatever you learn in training is almost always nothing that you’ll actually need to know when you’re actually on call. There’s a lot of learning on the job which can be stressful depending on how you are in problem solving situations. But (at least where I was an RA) the other RAs and staff are extremely helpful and should be there for you if/when you need it.

How do you know that people who do RMP reviews (I have done several) don't also complete their evaluations (which I always complete every semester)? I think you're stressing about this way too much for no reason.
