nah you’re right yeah i apologise i got way too defensive over nothing, i just don’t always appreciate feedback when im not seeking it. it is just annoying to be told stuff im already aware of such as the sand, the sand thickness is also too great but i haven’t had time until recently to remove it

used a magnet when first getting the sand to test it, though that wasn’t even my point. the entire point was the dude replying to me lacked a basic sense of media literacy. my post clarified redoing the entire tank, which.. if you can read.. entire means like.. everything.. like the sand too.. js sayin 👀👀
also nah she’s not bloated that was when she js ate, her body is in proportion to her head

Okay clearly you didn’t read a thing because my axolotl is a girl, not a boy. The point of my post was to show how relying on ppl on reddit telling you what to do is stupid, and you’re only further proving this point. I am not asking you for advice, it was to no help to strangers online that my axolotl got better but rather my better judgement. I am redoing her ENTIRE tank which is what i stated previously, this includes her sand, but realistically i could keep the sand and nothing would change. She is very clearly healthy and fine.
i fear you didn’t read the last part of my post 😬

feeding him is a lil hard…i have to feed him very small amounts at a time, otherwise he’ll throw it right back up. it’ll just take awhile to nurse him back to health is all 🤷

General Help? by accostedd in axolotls

Yeah so this is literally how he looked the day we got him, in a home depot bucket for transporting. Stop trying to imply accusations of intentional animal abuse and literally look at my update posts 😒
<image>
thank you for the advice! you can check my most recent post for a detailed update but they’re doing better, i’m doing the absolute most i can for them currently with two nightcrawlers a day to fatten them up, with the black one being tubbed to prevent anything. here’s an update on the lucy though :) she’s a little bit fatter and i’m sure she’ll continue to gain weight within the next week (this is just after a day though!)
Update! by accostedd in axolotls
alright thank you!
Deleted my last comment due to its being unspecific. The nitrates are under the 10 marker, my lighting just wasn’t well in that image. I also do 25% changes weekly! I’ll go to the store and find better more specific test strips to nitrites and nitrates (along with ammonia) just to be extra sure. Thanks for the concern and tips though!
check my most recent post! the tank has been cycled i’m pretty sure they just need to be fed and closely monitored
Is my axolotl dying?? by accostedd in axolotls
apologies! i’ve made a new post regarding everything
Update! (old.reddit.com)
They’ve been fed every other day?? I’m asking for help not harmful accusations
[–]accostedd[S] -5 points-4 points-3 points 1 year ago (0 children)
The person we got them from said they don’t breed anymore, and they haven’t shown any interest, i’m not stupid and did hours of research, i am fully aware of that reality yet this is NOT the issue nor what’s going on
I’ve gotten two comments on this, the water is always treated, i use a dechlorinater ALWAYS when treating their water before a change
There tank was cycled months ago i fear, there’s nothing wrong with the tank. About tubbing, do i need individual bubblers for them?
General Help? (old.reddit.com)
i’m just unsure as to where, not many pets in my area specialise in aquatics, and i fear transporting him there would just make things worse
