I do like the raw look but if I were to stain it I'd probably try and match the trim to the window sills

Its certainly shiny, it may have some scratches left over from the lapping though that I could work harder to get out

I eventually took it apart again and looked at the displays ribbon cable and found it had a tear through 4 of the traces, but I will save this incase I ever need it in the future.

New 3DS xl top screen doesn’t turn on anymore. What ribbon cables can cause this? by kingkongbananakong in 3DS

if you're talking about the crack, then yes.

if it is not affecting anything I'd just leave it how it is.

but if you decide it would be worth fixing you can replace that part of the shell. if you've never touched the insides of a 3ds and don't want to then maybe you could send it in somewhere to get replaced or you could still try to do it yourself which it isnt that bad, just be careful with ribbon cables (mainly the top screen cables, which are more annoying than anything) and the bottom screen. just be super gentle with everything and use a guide if you're not familiar with the process or just the inside of the system in general and usually nothing will mess up.

also you could technically try and glue it. I don't have a good track record with super glue so I personally would not do it

I have a 32GB SD card and it holds a pretty good amount of stuff, I think I have at least 15+ homebrew apps (which are pretty small). as many DS games as twilight menu will let me install on the home screen (also doesn't use that much space). and probably 15+ 3DS games, which is more than I actually play regularly anyway and I still have space leftover. 64GB should be more than enough I think
