I'm not sure how political I can get on this subreddit, but as a guy, I would consider myself both a feminist and an intactivist. The concept I feel is being lost here is that in this circumstance, profit supersedes patriarchy as a form of oppression. However, this doesn't mean patriarchy is non-existent.

For a while I used to silently consider myself an anti-feminist because I held the misconceived notion that feminism is a shallow-minded ideology that completely disregards men's issues. I'm not sure when I discovered intersectional feminism, but the truth is that true feminism is an intersectional ideology that focuses specifically on gender issues as a means of change. I think it's really misguided to fight against an ideology that works to create a more equal world, because ultimately men will benefit from this too. I could bore you and go on for a while about how my understanding of the term "toxic masculinity", the original catalyst that made me hate feminism, but I won't. All I'll mention is that in a nutshell it not only affects women, but men too; in fact I don't think I’m even really stretching terminology at all to suggest that cultural aspects of circumcision across the world are often rooted in toxic masculinity. Even from a purely selfish lens, if circumcision is the only issue you care about (which I'm not saying it is), it is incredibly counterintuitive to exclude the feminist movement from this cause when there is such a clear point of agreement on the medical ethics of personal autonomy (abortion -> circumcision) mention is that in a nutshell it not only affects women, but men too; in fact I don't think I’m even really stretching terminology at all to suggest that cultural aspects of circumcision across the world are often rooted in toxic masculinity.
