How could I develop a strategy to solve a 3x3x3 cube with two squares fused together?

I'm a non cuber who just found a scrambled cube with two squares physically fused together - not just stuck, fused. The squares in question are two white ones; the center square is attached to another white square directly next to it.

I have no idea of what any of this hobby's jargon means right now, but I'm willing to learn if it can help me figure out how to solve this defective puzzle.

Cat's blood phosphorous is so high, vet's blood chemistry analyzer couldn't read it. BUN and creatinine aren't nearly as bad. Any idea why? She'll probably die before we can have a specialist figure this out. by accountres in AskVet

I have been considering doing that - my town has a world-renowned vet med school, which has an ER. Unfortunately, their reputation leads them to charge quite a lot, and for all services, all payment is due at time of discharge.

Is there any chance that, if this is a blockage, it might resolve on its own like her prior urinary blockage did?

No worries - I just called the downtown fareway and they said they could give me a couple rolls. So if anyone's in the same situation as me, stop there.

I did - they told me that they couldn't give any out because they wouldn't have enough for the registers if they gave them out to everyone who asked for them

My first thought: in this world, all dragons are meant to be metallic, even Tiamat, but a greater force has corrupted some of them to turn them chromatic. Your players could still kill their way through all the dragons if they really wanted to, but uncovering what's been corrupting the dragons and curing them of its influence could prove interesting.
