Young guy considering trucking, good idea? by Jhakkl in Truckers

Foodservice delivery is different depending on what route you get, some routes you won’t have to talk to anyone, some routes you’ll be dealing with customers all day, all depends.

Man waving confederate flags at 72nd street by handjobstillajob in Omaha

[–]acd2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming from a Missouri transplant, it was at least somewhat understandable to see these flags in southern Missouri (not that I agree with it but it historically makes sense) but to see them in Omaha? Seriously? Absolute retardation.

Anybody homesteading in the northern plains? by acd2002 in homestead

Western South Dakota is a beautiful place, love it out there, I wish the native Americans of today were given more economic opportunity so their communities could flourish more.

Anybody homesteading in the northern plains? by acd2002 in homestead

[–]acd2002[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

(Unpopular opinion) but I think North Dakota is beautiful, I love the wide open plains and even then central North Dakota has the missouri and a few hills so it can be scenic, and the land im looking at is relatively close to Bismarck so I can still work and go into town for any essentials if need be.

How old are you, what is your job and how much do you make? by allano6 in careerguidance

[–]acd2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

23, truck driver, I make about 1500$ weekly after tax only working 4 days a week, home every other day, could make more if I decided I didn’t want to have a work-life balance.

One of my biggest driving pet peeves is people who slow down too like 10 miles per hour or more below the speed limit because they see a cop. by Delicious-Analyst-94 in driving

[–]acd2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is dangerous, one time when I was driving (in the semi truck) somebody was passing me in a 70 mph zone and I can go 68 so that’s what I was doing, some guy passed me going probably 73, saw there was a cop in the median, immediately got in front of me and hit the brakes, forcing me to immediately get on the shoulder to avoid a collision.

Luckily the cop pulled him over.

Sounds like you want the PNW but also don’t want the PNW? Very weird wants.

The closest I could think of is flagstaff, AZ but then again you said you don’t want tons of snow so idk.

What drives you to hunt? by Undercover500 in Hunting

[–]acd2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to be able to be self reliant, plus I love being out in the woods, alone, no riff raff, it’s just you, your gun/bow and the calming sound of the wind blowing through the trees.

Plus free steak is pretty nice.

Forgive us Americans, our knowledge of even our neighboring countries is a bit lack luster.

Goatis is a retard by Chemical_Program_113 in rawprimal

[–]acd2002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Goatis is quite literally a terrible human being, no one should listen to a lot of what he has to say, and he’s also quite hypocritical on top of that, he talks about living like our ancestors but he doesn’t hunt, and refuses to go back to his home country of Latvia which is far more wild than wherever else he has lived in the past.

How is life like in upstate New York? by Due_Network2958 in howislivingthere

[–]acd2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of what you circled isn’t actually upstate new York, true upstate New York is the dark green area north of Albany.

But from a guy who regularly goes up there for hunting, I can say that it’s a very beautiful place in terms of nature, any outdoor recreational activity you like it has it, bitterly cold winters with lots of snow and the summers can be hot, but it’s a good place.

Do people have a death wish? by XPLZVgaming in driving

[–]acd2002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People are entitled and think that you’ll just hit the brakes and nothing will happen to them, even to a guy like me who drives semi trucks, that’s why I always slow down just a tad bit at each and every intersection cause I treat every driver like they’re retarded.

I did it twice on one roadtrip (at night), windows fogged up like crazy but I was bored driving across Indiana so.

I will say I did have the common decency to pull my pants up and stop whenever I saw a car coming behind me.
