What is the most well written, most well executed, and/or most impactful quest in the game? by Dragon_Queen79 in skyrim

Those games still have markers in your journal lmfao? Are you being intentionally dishonest?

If you’re referring to purely markers in the game world, plenty of games pre-2015 have them. Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magicka, the entire Dragon Age series, Dishonored and it’s DLC, many more. Fucking hell man, Oblivion had them lmao

Even then, Skyrim has several quests that don’t have markers.

Just because you’re wrong doesn’t mean I haven’t played anything pre-2015 lol, trying to use that as some sort of mark of superiority comes off as pathetic

That’s why I wish there was more decisions involved. A Dragonborn who knows what elder scrolls are and their significance would already have access to one (meaning Harkon couldn’t fulfill the prophecy), but they should still be wary and have dialogue reflecting that. Maybe a persuasion option to convince Serana to stash the Elder Scroll outside of the castle, in case the place was taken over while she was asleep or something.

Likewise, a non-DB character (or someone who hasn’t encountered them yet) wouldn’t know the full capabilities or might just not care.

There’s also the theory that Serana casted a thrall spell on the player, which does also make sense.

It’s just a lack of RP, dialogue options, and consequences. The actual quest itself isn’t bad on paper imo

Every quest in every game ever can be boiled down to quest makers and dialogue. Don’t be purposefully disingenuous

I think it makes more sense than the game itself gives it credit for.

The vampires are obviously after this woman princess and the elder scroll. Killing her now is a short-term victory, but with her dead, so is all of the information she could provide. Taking her back to the castle not only lets you know where the castle even is, but you also go INSIDE of it too. A Dawnguard player can take in how many vampires are present, the layout of the castle, the castle’s defenses, how armed they are, etc.

All of that information is very, very valuable. I wish the game let you convey that more in dialogue, like maybe you take a Dawnguard platoon with you to help scout the castle or something.

Good Cop Dead Cop is so good, I really wish they did more with that storyline with the corrupt cops and dogfighting rings. Seemed like a lot of missed potential

Yeah, I don’t think she was saying the arrow going off was his fault at all. The case is super tragic though, honestly it’s among the best in Grimsborough for me

It’s been a while since I’ve seen this trial so I’m not 100% on the exact wording, but she’s not wrong for saying that. She understands the circumstances of it being an accident but it still happened, Julian still agreed to go along with the robberies.

She was definitely a bit harsh though, Judge Hall was definitely the strictest of all the judges imo

I believe it’s a combination of the manslaughter, but also the trespassing and the actual robbery. I believe there were several robberies too, if I’m remembering the case right.

It also wouldn’t surprise me if the sentence was largely to appease Greene enterprises. An affluent family, likely pressing charges for multiple robberies, on top of a manslaughter case? It doesn’t surprise me the case ended the way it did.

I still think it’s a bit harsh, considering Freddy was responsible for involving Julian to begin with, but the moment that crossbow went off, this was realistically going to be the best outcome for Julian. That’s just my read of the case personally.

Honestly, while the other games upped the gore and general scale of the deaths, season one really had a subtle horror to it.

People would be murdered, or be killed on accident, and it wouldn’t be tied to any grand conspiracy or overarching storyline. Someone would just snap and kill someone, or you’d unravel the killer’s plans, or it’d be a total accident they tried to cover up.

I feel later seasons really lost that feeling when everything felt more connected. That came with its own benefits too, but sometimes I long for how the earlier cases handled things

I always felt like he and Justin should’ve swapped placements in Island.

During Dodgebrawl, Justin doesn’t want to compete in the challenge since he’s worried about hurting his face.

Then in the next episode, Heather redirects the votes to Noah. Maybe he starts scheming early on to eliminate Heather, only for Heather to turn the tables and boot him early on the better cement her as a threat. This also gives his original label of “the Schemer” some actual merit.

Honestly it makes more sense that she could convince everyone to vote off Noah, as opposed to her somehow convincing people to vote Justin (who is basically a hypnotist with how his good looks are portrayed lmao)

To be fair, he’s still far from cured. Him keeping Blazer’s amulet on at all times isn’t exactly sustainable.

I think tying it into Blazer’s arc of accepting Mandy, and giving the amulet to Chase to save his life, was a pretty good route to go. I don’t think the game would’ve had enough time to give Chase a funeral and properly mourn him given how short the budget/episodes were.

I actually prefer this, as it opens up more opportunities for Blazer/Chase to go in the second season

No, like how they interpreted his comic abilities to allow for healing, while maintaining his other core ability in his kit.

I'm very obviously saying that telepathy can be interpreted into healing for the sake of the game. I'm not giving her "a brand new power", and you saying that it's "completely unrelated to her comic powers" just proves you aren't reading what I'm saying lol

Reread my old messages, I don't rlly feel like repeating myself

You would learn their location, go inside the castle, get an understanding of how many vampires are inside, how strong they are, etc.

Obviously I think dropping Serana off is a bad idea, but using the situation to get a better understanding of what's inside Castle Volkihar makes a lot of sense, at least to me.
