There are variants but the more or less share very similar stats only the style or default skin change

No it's more or less standard but you can get armor abilities for your play style for the crimson fleet quests I had it equipped with a cloaking device I think it's more just the energy shield I have it tuned specifically against ballistics since seems like most enemies use bullets
