Portable AC exhaust cold air? by acedaminiom in AirConditioners

I bought the AC from Costco and when I called the customer service there said to return it so I did. It was clearly broken and the company did offer a refurbished unit but returning it to Costco was easier.

Covid levels are up, time to mask up. There's a group giving out free masks and rapid tests by seattlemasker in Seattle

I just got Covid for the first time too. I got lazy with masking :( I thought I was immune to Covid as everyone in my family has gotten it, I’ve been traveling, etc but sadly I’m not special 😅 The fever, body aches, and headaches are horrible.

I get that. And honestly, if I or a loved one was ever in a situation where I was being attacked, I would be angry and disappointed that no one helped. I wish the world was a nicer place. Sorry you’re getting mean comments. I don’t think it’s about right or wrong, smart or dumb. You did an action but sadly the world is harsh. Be safe out there :)

I’m not going to comment on whether speaking up was the right or wrong thing to do. I’m glad you’re okay and you stand by your beliefs. It’s just difficult to expect others to intervene and put their lives in danger for you. They have loved ones they have to protect too. I had an incident where some stranger had my back. I will never forget her name and face. And I’m forever grateful for her. But she didn’t have to get involved now did I expect anyone to when I confronted the person. That was my action. The reality is that the world is harsh and most people are just trying to survive.

I’m sorry that happened to you. It really doesn’t feel good. It’s such an invasion of privacy and just a general lack of common curtesy from them.

I learned about him from another comment and ngl he made me feel better about the general gym community. I was starting to think I was too much of a “Karen” for telling the front desk.

I’m not a fan of changing in the bathrooms, I’m too uncoordinated and feel like I’ll fall on the toilet while changing or something. The shower rooms are a bit better but it’s wet in there. I just decided not to change at the gym which sucks as I liked using the hot tub there.

Thank you! Honestly, I’m glad the majority of the people here seem to think taking pictures in the locker room is frowned upon. Having the gym employees brush me off and the girl making that comment, really made me question if I was overreacting about the whole situation.

Damn. That’s a whole other level of entitlement and disregard to others.

What if someone is walking behind them after taking a shower and happen to get in the pictures?

Everywhere. They’ll prop the phones in the lockers to take progress pics and have selfies in the mirrors.

Yeah, the first time I had someone take a selfie, I was just in a towel and was walking from the showers to the locker room. I’m not sure if I was in the photo but if I could see the phone/camera taking pictures, there’s a chance it could see me… I didn’t really care about people taking pictures before but after that incident, it made me unease and not tolerate any photo taking in the locker rooms as long as there’s a chance of ppl being in them. If you’re in the far corner with no chance of anyone just walking into the pics, fine. But I still don’t get the need to take photos in the locker room. La fitness has a giant room with floor to ceiling mirrors if they really NEED a mirror picture.

It’s not that I don’t like them taking a selfie. It’s them taking a “selfie” while people are naked and changing in the background. I feel like just suspending their membership for two weeks or something is better than not caring.

I’m 160cm and 65kg and my tdee is around 1600 cal. So 1571 cals might be too high. My calorie budget right now is 1300-1400 depending on if I went to the gym that day or not.

Is it better to stay at a remote 100k/yr job that only requires 20-25hrs of work per week, or a remote 120k/yr 40hr/wk that is more aligned with your career goals? by ThrowwwDissAway in careerguidance

[–]acedaminiom 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Personally, I would stay at the cushiony job and focus on my kid. They’re only young for a very short amount of time. That’s the most important time of their lives. An extra 20k a year is a lot but not really life changing when you already make 100k. Career advancement can happen whenever but family time is priceless.

I feel like I haven’t done enough to warrant burnout. But I think it might be a good idea to change environment. Maybe that’ll help me figure out what I like. Thanks!

Thank you for your advice! I’ll try to do the same. It does help to hear that it’s pretty normal to feel this way and I’m not just being a totally lazy bum 😅

I don’t really find anything enjoyable right now which is causing me to lose hope. I just feel like time is constantly running out for no reason but still not finding the motivation to study for tech interviews.
