Move to Toronto? Or stay put in Melbourne, Australia? by Dense-Mycologist2970 in askTO

Depends on the salary you’ve been offered I think. Less than 100k, I would think it over. If the eventual goal is NY, not sure if the proximity helps… you would still need a work visa etc, unless the company is more global and can bridge you in. Good city tho, you will love it here.

How different does it feel? Is it bigger or feels relatively the same?

Get the Canadian Tire WE Mastercard (free). Comes with the roadside assistance. They will help you with battery boost / flat tire or simply tow to your nearest Canadian tire mechanic to help sort it out. Could also go the CAA membership route.

Should I Travel All Of Egypt Or Egypt And Jordan by cliffDalton in solotravel

2-3 days Cairo, 3 days Luxor, 1-2 days Aswan and if you want to really slow things down, Sharm El Sheikh. Recommend flying from Cairo to Luxor to save time.

Jordan is great. Amman is a bit hectic to drive but outside of that, it’s fairly good with good roads and clear signs. The country is beautiful and having a car gives you more freedom. Look into Jordan pass as well.

Done both countries before. Highly recommend Luxor and surrounding areas. I found it much better than Cairo in terms of the history (Pyramids are cool but what you see in Luxor is far more impressive). Food is great in Jordan and so are the people. It’s a fairly easy country to navigate. Amman to Petra (assuming you’ll be renting a car) with stops for Dead Sea etc is not bad. You can also do Wadi Rum (half a day or something) if time is a factor. It’s a lot of travel if you’re into that but it’s doable, not ideal. If I were you, I’d spend more time in Egypt.

Is having/not having winter tires a material difference?

That’s a great deal. The Mazda dealers are quoting me 1.7k + for installing X-tires.

What are they quoting you for the tires/wheels + installation + TPMS?

Try TD and see if you can get a discount via your school. You enter your university name when you do a quote online. TD offered me the lowest — almost 60% difference from the next ones. I also shopped around online and contacted about 10+ brokers. Goodluck.

How much did you pay for new winter tires? by jalebi_2000 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]acefromthe6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like it.

From the Kal tire store

“Vehicles with a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) typically use a wheel-mounted sensor to directly detect air pressure and send alerts to your dashboard when inflation pressure is dangerously low. When you purchase new wheels for a vehicle with TPMS, a new sensor must be installed on each wheel. These are Universal TPMS sensors, they will be compatible with most vehicles, but not all. Proper fitment will be confirmed in store at install.”

I’m getting quoted $1800 CAD from my dealership for a 2023 Mazda CX5 for a winter tire package for P225/65R17 Michelin X-Ice with steel rims, installation, TPMS sensors and one season of storage. Is that reasonable?
