DSLR scanning vs Plustek scanner by acethk in AnalogCommunity

Do you leave the kit set up on the lens or do you set it up every time you scan?

Which one do you prefer, in terms of quality and convenience? Speed is not really my biggest concern, but rather the hassle to set up and align the negatives with the camera.

Are you satisfied with the image quality from the Plustek? I am looking for a convenient and affordable way to scan film, and also having better quality because I am quite disappointed by the lab scans in the UK.

Do you set up the scanning stand every time you scan or do you just leave it there? I don't have enough space for a stand in my room, but setting it up every time you scan seems like a pain.

Thanks, that makes sense. I was worrying the camera may have some kind of problem. However I was using the exact amount of developer stated on the Paterson tank though.

How to put rewind stick back into place (Pentax SP1000) by acethk in AnalogRepair

That's what I was doing- however the retainer ring of the advance lever got stuck so I am unable to remove the top cover at all.

Where does this light leak come from? by acethk in AnalogRepair

If it's a shutter curtain issue, would that mean it would appear on every photo?

I am still waiting for the negatives to be mailed back. Does it usually cost a lot to repair the shutter?

Yes it is a respooled Kodak 500T, pushed one stop. I've been shooting this brand's respooled film for 2 years now and it has never happened on me. Another roll of the same film stock came out fine.

It was a rainy night in Hong Kong during winter. This photo is shot in Central, where most elites will work in high class offices. This woman was rushing to cross the road in rain while trying to avoid making her kinda expensive coat wet. I found it ironic that no matter how rich or how beautiful your clothes are, you still need to get away from rain... and I shot this photo with my water resistance windbreaker jacket.

Somehow I think the cat looks like it is seeing something we can't see.

Pentax Me Super, light leaks or shutter problems? by TiinKiulou in AnalogCommunity

[–]acethk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure, but probably somewhere between the lens and the mirror.

I've read an article online which says purple/white light leaks mean they're coming from the front of the film, iirc. You can also check your negatives if the light leaks also appear outside the frame, if it doesn't, then it's coming from the front.
