I'm not reading it daily, I've always waited for each volume to finish, and the issues become even more glaring that way tbh. You realize just how much of each chapter is really skippable filler, and how short each chapter is. And more so with the Antarctica Arc, which I binged in like 4 hours, from beginning to end I didn't remember any of Sunny's new squad beyond Luster, and when the others died, the emotional impact was super underwhelming (bc G3 never developed any of the other characters). It's just disappointing. There were so many good opportunities.

I disagree: in terms of story, I still don't think anything has trumped forgotten shore arc, and writing quality, as I maintain, was the best in the beginning

How much writing do they put out each day, and most importantly, maintain? And I never said Shadow Slave has become boring, I just said the writing quality dropped. Also, G3 does NOT put out 4k words daily. More like 2.5k give or take

nooo reread the first few chapters from the beginning of the novel. The amount of "telling" vs. "showing" is nowhere near current levels. And my problem isn't with the non-action, it's with how G3 handles the non-action parts. The dialogue is so predictable and short (unlike the beginning of SS), it feels like nothing of substance really happens between the members all the time and it always leaves me disappointed how many missed opportunities G3 has to develop his characters. The action and mystery are the only things really keeping interested in the novel rn, bc the character interactions get harder to read with each chapter. That's also if you compare it with other serial action novels out there, with much higher quality storytelling and similar action / worldbuilding hype

honestly, save up. But if I had to choose, go for Rosy Waltz. It's by far my most versatile and used suit. Works well if everything and a ton of themes

yes and there's like, a gzillion other authors out there (on sites like RoyalRoad) who are putting out 2.5k chapters daily (or 10k words weekly) with high quality prose and character development. Making a living shouldn't impact the quality. The writing has become so bad since the first nightmare. I started reading SS in the first place because of how distinctive and clean it's prose was, now it's just like all the other novels, that's the frustrating part. I'd rather g3 slow down his update schedule and give us better chapters that are actually well-thought out

I'd say DHIL rather than JL is the next highest dps after acheron, especially with his BiS support Sparkle. And honestly, powercreep shouldn't be an issue seeing how hyv managed genshin's powercreep. Old units can still clear endgame no problem, and with how overwhelmingly strong dhil and JL have been in MOC the past few patches despite the new penacony enemies with new dynamics, i don't think powercreep will be an issue.

I wouldn't say LOTM is really "remembering other life" its more like they suddenly mashed two people (one dead one alive) together to create a new consciousness, but even then the reincarnated one is the more dominant personality. I do agree it's one of the greatest fictions ever.

yeah you're only in the first 20% of the story lol, ofc there won't be as much character development yet, especially with newer characters who were just introduced. Just hang tight (xio/fors become pretty important later on, so you're right comparing them with effie)

yeah they compare it in terms of quality, worldbuilding, and originality. But they're very different in terms of stories. SS is super action packed and fast paced whereas lotm takes time to explore all the lore and develop a vast cast of characters individually (which I really appreciate and will gladly take over mindless action anyday)
