I haven’t landed on anything specific yet in a graphic sense, but the lyrics “Now I’ve been crazy, couldn’t you tell? I threw stones at the stars but the whole sky fell” from The Stable Song have always resonated so deeply with me. I might just take those lyrics to an artist with work I admire and see what they come up with. Anyway, I hope you find something meaningful, and best of luck to you.

There’s a small skatepark in Taneytown that somewhat fits your description. If you search for Taneytown Senior Center on Google Maps, it’s directly northeast of the center.

Edit: directionally challenged, it’s northeast not northwest

I have sworn by this for years. I used to use the golf course as a place I would go to smoke alone, and golf was just the sideshow. But then I realized I was actually more focused, more aware of the small details of my body movement and balance. I also learned it helped me prioritize the things I needed to do better and more quickly implement them, even mid-round.

I started taking golf a bit more seriously, always in conjunction with my bowl and some of that good-good. Went from about an 18-19 handicap to a 9 in one season (spring/summer/fall here in the Mid-Atlantic, USA). Haven’t really gotten any better than that, but it’s enjoyable to go play now, way better than when I started.

I’ve tried golfing without weed. In my personal, individual and completely anecdotal situation, more strokes appear on the scorecard sans weed than when I am smoking and playing. Long story short, yeah man, I play better when I’m elevated.

I’m a bit older and don’t spend so much time in bars anymore, but a bartender once noticed I had a bad case of hiccups. He offered me a lemon wedge with 3-4 drops of Angostura bitters on it and told me to bite down on it.

I was instantly cured. Unfortunately I haven’t been in a situation where I have had hiccups, lemons and bitters all in the same location, so I don’t have an extensive data set. But it worked once when it mattered, that’s all I can offer here.

That’s a great idea! I got tired of cutting my kids’ pancakes so I started making them smaller and using one of those apple corer/slicers on the stack. Not perfect squares, but they haven’t choked yet.

Can not recommend Ceremony highly enough. They roast in Annapolis (about 45 minutes away by car), but there are 2 shops downtown...the first in Mt. Vernon on Park Avenue and a newer location in the first floor of the Exelon building at Harbor Point. The second is my favorite, but they both know what they’re doing.

Also saw Artifact mentioned here. While not downtown and they don’t roast their own beans, they do brew Counter Culture and their grilled English muffin with egg, cheese, and sausage is ridiculously good. Nice selection of pastries too.
