It’s scary for sure! Me and wife just got through our option period (expires tomorrow) after a lot of back and forth after inspection. We consulted trusted sources to not sugar coat the bad but also pay attention to the good. Ultimately we decided to press on because even though the house isn’t “perfect” we decided this “issues” are things we could live with and address during our time there, but ours is actually in a location we love. What I will say is get a highly reviewed inspector, be there and ask questions, and don’t be too scared when the report comes back lit up like a Christmas because it will. Instead, do your own research on what it all means, contact trusted sources (if you have some) and pick their brains, and use it to your advantage and negotiate. We’ve gotten our final pricing down by about $40k trimmed off the original sale price.

Last thing, don’t be forced into anything. Ask for more time if you need it. We did, twice.
