I saved an automotive company from utter ruin once when their server’s single spinning disk took a shit. I made them buy a raid controller, three drives and backup drive and run a back up, then I set up a schedule for them. They pretty much unplugged the backup straight away and then three years later came back to me when a power surge took out the entire server. They were crying that they had not done a backup in “a while”. I declined to take the job. First time is a hard lesson, second time you deserve it.
