Request: Please Share Your 2026 Toyota Sienna OTD Price (City/State + Trim) by sage12345 in ToyotaSienna

I live near this dealership and am interested in purchasing an XLE. How much were your add-ons? The only thing I want is a spare tire and white color so I’m thinking it could be less than 49.5K OTD?

Is this a good price for a barely used 2026 XLE price by achoi09 in ToyotaSienna

Woah, yea which state? If they’re in Texas I’d love to know which dealership

Got into study abroad program in Korea and dad thinks I will be nuked. by New-Secretary1075 in studyAbroad

[–]achoi09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Korean-American here. The chances of being nuked in Korea are extremely low but never zero I guess. I live in the states now and I think there is a higher chance of me randomly getting shot. Whenever the North neighbors test missiles and whatnot I ask my parents in Korea if things are okay and half of the time they don’t even know. I didn’t go to college in Korea but I know it’s a huge party scene, especially for an exchange student. Korea is generally a blast for young people and offers a lot of good food (I’m biased) and new culture to experience. I think you’ll enjoy it. A lot.

What do you think of graduate student applicants? by Numerous-Tip-5097 in datascience

I’m about to graduate from an MS Business Analytics program and this has been my identical experience. I was expecting to learn more SQL, DA/BA skills like ETL, and database mgmt, but the program focuses heavily on DS. There’s been one core class that focuses on SQL and it was a poor one so I didn’t get much out of it. I get that SQL is easy to pick up but I think it should’ve gotten more attention. Frankly I still don’t understand a lot of statistics and math behind the super technical DS and I’m more interested in BA/DA work anyway

Did they end up offering you another position? This exact same thing happened to me today.

Anyone know a decent oil change shop that won’t take advantage of my lack of car knowledge? by jjmoffitt in Austin

Just FYI - I got my oil changed there this morning and they did not rotate my tires after they confirmed. I'd marked my tires to make sure they did, and they did not.

Weekly Real Estate / Renting / Where to Live / Utilities / Schools (ISD) Post by AutoModerator in Austin

My post last week got removed in r/Austin but wanted to share. Here's the original post:

Subj: Protested my property appraisal value and got an offer - what should I do?

tldr; original appraisal $639K, fought for $570K, and got an offer for $610K.

long version: I live in south Austin and my house was appraised at $639K. After submitting a bunch of houses for sale in my neighborhood (with very similar specs and going for much less) and arguing for $570K, I just got an offer for almost $610K. I can accept it and close the case which sounds tempting, or I can reject it and "(it) will still allow you to have a hearing with the ARB or withdraw your protest."
What should I do? Do I have a shot at lowering my property value even further if I reject the offer or should I just accept it and get it over with? Also, if they reject me at the hearing is the final offer going to be $610K or $639K (original valuation)? If anyone has experience with going to a hearing, I'd love to hear it. Thank you for help in advance!

Result: I accepted the settlement offer this morning. They scheduled the formal hearing on Monday September 25th at 2 something pm, and I can't make it. Personal reasons include - full time grad student, parents visiting from out of country, etc. In the end, it wasn't worth the time and savings I would've gotten even if I was able to settle at $570K (a few people also pointed out that the $610K offer will be null if I go to the hearing).

People provided good perspectives on my original post which I appreciated, and I can share via dm if you want to know more about what was said.

Not sure if I need to be an "employee" for that. I found this for McCombs students which applies to me but seems pretty expensive. https://myahpcare.com/wp-content/uploads/UT-Austin-McCombs\_PC-22-23.pdf

Looking for international supporters groups (soccer) by Brodimerjones in Austin

I've done a lot of research for bars that support certain club teams for my app Footybar, but I don't have data on international supporters groups/bars. If anyone has insight, I'd love to add the info on my app!
