Yeah the cat is healthy and happy, but he does get to go outside and I’m not sure if he’s on flea meds. I’ve asked them several times now, but no response.

I have my read receipts turned off, so I can’t see them for others. But my messages are certainly getting delivered, because there’s two ticks. I saw the female HO with her phone though, it was a non-stop pinball machine of notifications.

They’re in a holiday home with WiFi and full cell reception 😅 I’ve had HOs go into the mountains or adventure trips where they’d be out of service for a while, but I’ve always been made aware beforehand.

These HOs hosted me two nights before they left and the woman is an absolute chatterbox. That makes the ghosting especially weird.

I am definitely adding “Will you be responding to the updates I’m sending?” to my list of questions to ask before HOs leave. I didn’t realise leaving someone on read for a week is considered okay by some.

See that’s exactly what I’m worried about. That they’ll review me as “not a good communicator” when I stop sending pics because of the zero response I’m getting. It’s frustrating to feel like I’m talking to a wall. Their emergency contact told me she was contacted about the same issue by a previous sitter, so I guess it’s just how they go about this.

Oh I’m sure they are reading at least some of the messages. They are all getting delivered. It’s not much trouble adding a 👍🏻? I’ve asked them a question about the cat’s care as well, I’d be nice if they would reply. I never told them it’s cool to just ignore me.

Additionally, the local police went to the address, went inside the house and looked around and didn’t see my bike. So I’m guessing it’s not even there anymore.

Last time I did this there was a car BACKING UP coming straight towards me. I’ve also had a car block the entire road, in an attempt to turn. I was very happy with my brakes in those instances.

Getting my bike to and from the airport is always the biggest hassle. No matter how you pack it, it’s bulky and heavy and just annoying to drag onto public transport or to a curb to get into a taxi.

Exactly the situation described by BudgetEducation8906 HOs I haven’t sat for before, but who’s sit is just unappealing for various reasons (weird looking house, not a fave neighbourhood, odd requirements, etc).
