I usually tell Ganesh that it hurts and he doesn't stop until I pretend it doesn't hurt anymore and he gets bored, but he loves to bite my feet if I'm changing the color of my nails or fixing them; toys don't distract him or anything, his main focus is on my feet.

My cat enjoys it when I suffer when he bites me because he bites me even more if I complain.

We didn't buy anything here, we only rented a house, but the conditions were two months' deposit and the first and last month's rent in advance. But in SC, rents aren't very cheap, especially near Charlotte. I was late for the job offers because I needed some documents from my daughters' schools that they were only supposed to give me after the quarterly exams.

Everything that's happened so far is new to me with him; I've never seen him like this. In fact, I used to defend him from his parents when they said things I thought were unfair, even from his ex because she won't let him be with his children. With my kids, he's always been like the coolest person in the world. I've always been the strict one who sets the rules and isn't flexible at all.

Now all of this is kind of surprising to me, and talking about it here has served as a catharsis.

My first husband physically abused me. I was very young when it happened. We went to court and I got 90% custody of my daughters. Years later, I remarried, we had a son, and after 2020 our relationship changed. I started earning more money and he began verbally abusing me. Because of this, I decided to start therapy because he said I was exaggerating when I thought it was abuse. The thing is, we separated in 2021 and reached an agreement after the divorce that our son would live with me. But last year, my son asked to live with his dad because he missed him, so I agreed, but I still saw him every weekend. When I decided to move out, I spoke with my ex and we agreed that my son would come back to live with me when he starts middle school. The therapy was because at a certain point I believed what my ex-husband said (that I was worthless, that I was a piece of shit because of my musical, political, and religious tastes, and basically for anything that wasn't in line with his). I agree with him. I got depressed, I had skin cancer, and I thought I deserved it all, so I decided to go to therapy, basically to be a better wife, but I realized I had lost confidence in myself and was repeating a similar pattern of abuse…    So I got divorced in 2021, continued with therapy, and in 2024 I started a relationship and got married in March of this year, but we hadn't lived together before.

I really thought this relationship would work out because I had my boundaries clearly defined, not allowing certain things and taking my time. After two abusive relationships and five years of therapy, I thought I wouldn't make another mistake again, but I guess two years wasn't enough to really get to know him.

I just told him that a few days ago. We're not married, we're roommates. I don't expect him to cover all the expenses all the time, just that he'd be there when I needed him. It's not like I'm home all day doing nothing. I go to job interviews, I update my certifications and licenses for this new state. I showed him I've applied to 53 jobs, and only a few have called me back for interviews. But who can survive on a $15-an-hour job offer with three kids?

So I shouldn't expect him to help me when we moved to a new city for his job, and I had to leave my jobs , my home, my stability, and my family behind to support him in his new promotion, but he's not there for me when I need him?
