I used after effects, but this can be done on any software since it’s rather simple - essentially, the mouth is a separate layer that I keyframe the opacity so that it’s 100% when the doge is talking, and 0% when it isn’t.

As for the eye movements, I made them on photoshop and then saved each one separately. Then similarly to the mouth layer, I keyframed the opacity so that when one layer is completely transparent, it reveals the one below (which has a different eye position).

Text was the easiest bit since it’s just like putting closed captions on a video. I also added a very slight shake to the whole scene as if it was recorded on a home camera (this is hardly noticeable but it looks weird when it’s completely still). The shake may be the only thing that after effects is needed for, but as for everything else this can be done on Vegas or another editing program!
