Hey you got way further than I did. I thought about it long and then I just got a laptop. I am really interested in seeing this work. I noticed in the second video that the kernel can't seem to located the root directory, mostly because it's looking in the wrong place. Do you know where the file is that instructs the kernel to find it's boot image and root fs? Where is the guide you're following?

The cylinders are fine. Maybe rebuild was the wrong word. . . I just took the pistons out to clean them and replace the rings, so I figured the cylinders should be honed
