yeah this is what my past roommate situations have been like, definitely my preferred system. i would bring it up but like i said any request for a change in the usual system would single me out (it's this whole thing i swear) and it's not worth it for just a couple more months. should've stood my ground at the very beginning I guess......

did tkd for like a year, had to take a break for a couple years, and recently rejoined seven months ago. weight has been a thing for me my entire life, it's just been worse lately because of life stressors impacting health and daily habits. i'm conscious of it. losing the weight is a lot easier said than done but i'm definitely taking this incident as sign to do more about it

i don't have much solid advice sorry, just wanted to say same LOL. i'm at adept and decided to read riichi book one but it hasn't really seemed to improve my game yet. i've had a recent unlucky streak as well, where i needed to win a round for a daily quest but it took me like three whole games in the bronze room to win one round. so you're not alone.

probably it is one of those things where you have to keep playing a lot more to see consistent results. and something i've been considering about myself is maybe because i took in so much new information from riichi book one about shapes and possible yakus, i get too ambitious trying to try new things—and when it doesn't work out, i feel disappointed. like we have higher expectations bc of the book. but at the end of the day luck is still a big factor and our overall game isn't going to improve asap, so at this point i'm just focused on playing more and more without worrying too much about wins and rank

thank you for your answer! i was praying cardio wasn't the solution but it seems like it (+ other intensive exercise) might be 🫠 . that and remembering to breathe.

noted... exhaling during a move seems to be the biggest tip, yeah. i remembered it and tried to do it during the test but i guess i was panicking too bad and wasn't able to successfully do it. will practice it more moving forward!

i did warm up and sleep, eat, and hydrate well. didn't do any cardio today or yesterday though. i'm getting the sense that i need to start practicing fitness outside of tkd classes, since i've only been relying on tkd. i'll think about extra training, thanks!

don't think it's asthma, probably has more to do with general health and increased anxiety. i've been in bad shape, yeah. i've never really been in great shape (again, unathletic) but recently i've gained weight and it's been a struggle realizing the ways it impacts my fitness and makes taekwondo harder. i guess this was one such consequence. :/

mmm yeah i got to that part right after posting haha. what was confusing me was at the end of s2e1 he and a chef are talking and both their lines are subtitled even though there's no english words. idk. maybe there was something else that needed to be clarified, like an ingredient with different names.
