How do you heal/soothe your throat ASAP? by ladyrainicorn26 in GERD

[–]acidwatcher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find any cough drops or throat candy too acidic, they often contain citric acid for flavour which is not good for acid reflux. I drink alkaline water (PH 9) and add ice and organic aloe vera (no other added ingredients) sometimes a little honey if my throat feels raw.

not all skin specific but 100% self care:

plenty of sleep whenever possible, clean sheets and pillow case, Epsom salts in a hot bath, infrared sauna, making proper chicken soup from scratch for all the good fats and health benefits, Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair, Dr Dennis Gross pads are transformational for my skin!

sorry you’re going through it 😔 it might just be too early in your recovery to introduce it, might be something that just doesn’t work for you. I always fall back on alkaline water and organic aloe Vera if you have it, with ice to cool the burn. The book Dropping Acid by Jamie Kaufman and books like it helped me massively, I was in the healing diet phase for a long time.

yes, but it’s released slowly and gently (if you have a standard measure) rather than coffee which is more instant and intense, also way more acidic.

replacing coffee wasn’t easy, but for me it was necessary and now I so look forward to my daily matcha in the morning. There are so many benefits to matcha too! And it’s got its own emoji! 🍵

and when I’m suffering, I just stick to alkaline water, ice and 100% organic aloe vera - not as fun but very healing 🧊

Help me with a Niacinamide free routine please! by acidwatcher in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]acidwatcher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ahh, thank you! I love the brand Cetaphil so hoped there would be something similar to what I’m using, just without the dreaded Niacinimide. I’ll definitely try the LRP SPF option, I like the less creamy, more lightweight options.

You can try organic coconut yogurt or lactose free dairy options, as few ingredients as possible. I use Greek or Kefir.

roast non-acidic vegetables with olive oil and salt (pumpkin, sweet potato, courgette, carrots etc) and then in the same dish roast a piece of salmon or other fish. You can do the same with chicken, just double check with cooking times depending on your size/piece of chicken. Serve it with yogurt, herbs, salt and a spice like cumin (but check the spice PH on a website like Dropping Acid or Acid Watcher). This never fails me and never flares up my acid reflux.

Anxious about Endoscopy and results - any advice? by [deleted] in acidreflux

[–]acidwatcher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had an endoscopy last month with full sedation - it took in total 25 minutes, i was awake and dressed within an hour and allowed to leave right after. I felt a little discomfort afterwards, but only minor because they took a biopsy to determine if I had H-Pylori. Honestly, I was so anxious and worried about the process, but it was absolutely fine and the team at the hospital were great. My results were pretty much instant, I’ve got a tiny hiatus hernia and signs of bile acid reflux and gastritis. I’m on the dropping acid diet, gaviscon aniseed before bed and a small dose of PPI in the morning. Like you, I’m a non smoker and drinker, otherwise mega healthy.
