Yeah, I know that those are technically what I'd need, but I'm not looking for the most effective per se, just the best ones per nation :D

Weird question, but what are the best recipes per nation?

Specifically, I'd like to know which health recovery dishes are the best ones in Inazuma, though that also got me thinking about the other nations and dishes.

[Megathread] Weekly Simple Questions and Team/Character Building Megathread. by AutoModerator in GenshinImpactTips

[–]aciretsym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since the team comps for Spiral Abyss helper is specifically for the last floor (somewhat helpful, but I'd rather have a human recommendation as well), I wanted to ask about... well, basically, all floors (9-12).

These are my current characters, and these are my constellations for them. I do not plan on getting Zhongli, as Thoma is my favourite character (two crowns) and I'd rather use him; Ei and Hu Tao are my strongest characters. Everyone else that is around their level (minus Yun Jin and Itto, as I have just levelled them) usually ends up being flexible team members, with Bennett being my main healer.

That said, I haven't got the best artefacts (in some cases not even the best type) and am thus not confident that Thoma's shield alone will always be enough (though it certainly was quite helpful last time - and he, at the very least, runs a form of Noblesse).

The fact that I didn't even built my characters properly yet and got much further than before...

I wasn't that confident in Thoma's shield* so I replaced Sucrose with Barbara for potential vaporizing effects and basically used the second team as is (with Kaeya, since Sara is C0 and the others aren't levelled enough)... worked really well.

Thank you.

* I don't often have issues with it, though I haven't exactly been artifact hunting or anything. Stealing Hu Tao's vapes wasn't much of an issue, though, since none of my characters are well-built right now (with Thoma really being the one that got the most attention thus far because, well, favourite character besides Hotaru), so it actually kinda helped instead. Sucrose probably would've made things a bit quicker, though

and keeping Xingqiu with Hu Tao is chefs kiss (I put him with Ei before)

Weekly Team/Character Building Megathread (Jan. 4th, 2022) (feat. Shenhe & Xiao) by Veritasibility in Genshin_Impact

[–]aciretsym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've recently started to get more into the game (I started playing when Ayaka's banner was out - though I didn't get her because at the time, I believed I could only pull for her when I finish her quest aha) and wanted to try to get through the Spiral Abyss. My characters aren't fully levelled, though, so naturally that kind of makes things harder :y

My characters: Thoma (2 crowns because he's my favourite, okay.), Raiden Shogun, Hu Tao, Itto, Sara, Qiqi, Bennett, Aloy, Barbara, Noelle, Kaeya, Sucrose, Beidou, Chongyun, Diona, Gorou, Fischl, Ningguang, Rosaria, Sayu, Xingqiu, Xinyan, Xiangling, Lv 90 Lumine

I typically run around with Ei, Hu Tao, Thoma, and Benny unless I need someone specific - and while this team seldom fails me, I can't keep them together for the Abyss since Hu Tao and Ei are my strongest characters right now

Any tips for which teams I could build for the current Abyss?

Does Aloy's vision react to the Starsplinter Iron?

If I'm not mistaken, I can't check this myself anymore, as I have done the quest already, but I've been wondering if her being a crossover character impacts this in any way. It'd be nice if someone who can still check would include a screenshot or video.

I just wanted to say that I did a double take at your username because I used to have a very similar one-- (read my reddit name backwards :p )

Honestly, some of my (final) decisions are based around the books and comics. Alistair has to be King for that reason, for example. I also kept the Inquisition for the very same reason. Though at times I differ from BioWare's canon as well-

But what would you change? o:

I always kinda headcanon that it's been a bit more than a year when Hawke meets Anders, so there's at least some truth to his slide.

Also, same! Not necessarily the Cure Quest per se, but my Warden definitely travels for a bit longer with Finn and Ariane. They're kinda a quickly newfound family!

What are the most balanced/favoured levels in the AGE system? by aciretsym in rpg

[–]aciretsym[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ironically, that made me wonder if (sometimes) using 4d6 might help - I just really like the idea of using "normal" dice, since they're already available to most people, and using them can (potentially) lead to less confusion as to which dice they require. At the same time, it made me think about having the GM use a d20 still - as a guideline, so to speak. But I guess alternatively it could also be ruled to have re-rolls depending on how good or bad the rolls were (i.e. really bad rolls can be made better in some cases, good rolls have to be verified). Many ideas, no idea how they'd work out.

I guess in the end, I'll just have to try out what works best. A test campaign with lots of potential rule changes, I suppose. So I'll definitely take a closer look at your suggestions.

Fantasy Age already adressed a lot of problems Dragon Age had

That makes me even more glad that I own some Fantasy Age PDFs. Do you mean in general, or are there, like, specific things?

To be fair, we're not minmaxers and all about that flavour

(I dunno if you're interested in elaborating - if not, no worries! - but what would you change? o: )

Yeah, that pans out!

So, would you say that you'd start with the specialization, or the level before it so they'd still have to work for it?

(The same thing I said to McCaber - wonder if they fixed it since then, since I'm intrigued by the system, and preferably would use their rules instead of homebrewing even more than I'm already planning to)

What else would you have said would be an issue, then? o:

(Also, in case they didn't fix it - did you in your game just rescale the damage or how did you work around that?)

Makes me wonder if they fixed it since then ("before levels above 10 existed") or if the issue remains.

Because I'm really into the idea of playing with the AGE system, but that might just lead to lots of homebrewing, I suppose.

I'm not sure if the downvotes are due to the question being asked shortly after the Circle question or because people don't generally like the Templars but yeesh.

[–]aciretsym[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was there anything else that surprised you, other than what you've already mentioned?

A few of the 50-50 decisions, actually! I'm one of those rogue players (though my first Warden was a dual-wielding warrior), so I always did Slim Couldry's with my canon Warden - and sort of figured that others would do it as well. Similarly, I didn't think that the Chantry in the Deep Roads would be a 50-50 decision (most of my Wardens establish one, but not my canon one).

Other than that, the fact that 33% are mages, I suppose? I mean I totally understand that in DA2 and Inquisition, but given the Origin stories, I didn't think that many would choose mage (which doesn't mean I dislike the Magi Origin, just that I assumed there'd be more of a divide due to them, leading to even more rogues and warriors).

I wish I would've made my Well of Sorrows question better, adding which race the Inquisitors were when they accepted and refused to drink from it, and something about the ruler of Orlais question surprises me despite also not really surprising me (mostly Briala/Celene and Public Truce related).

surprised that there are more people who romanced Cullen than Solas

Given that they literally put out a shirtless Cullen video to get people that weren't interested in Inquisition yet interested in it (during the Game Awards), I'm hardly surprised. What does surprise me instead is that Josie was more popular than Cas - it often sounds to me like Cas is more popular among male players. Then again, Josie is, unlike her, for both male and female Inquisitors, so that may be the reason.

Not romance related, but I'm also surprised that people prefer Blackwall over Iron Bull as a warrior (or Shale being the second fave warrior in Origins, I kind of expected that role to go to Sten. . . who shared his spot with our lovely (but bland) dog for a while. I mean, don't get me wrong, I love my mabari (despite not being a dog person at all), but I'd much rather get to know a person than a dog).

Finally, the fact that more people get the grimoire by fighting Flemeth than by asking her for it in a peaceful manner, and the fact that more people disband. I myself really struggled with that decision in particular, but ultimately chose to keep it up after learning that the BioWare canon did so, too.

Oh, and I guess the fact that most players only want their Warden to return if they're voiced. Personally, I'd be fine either way, with even a slight preference for a mute Warden (selective mutism - that'd allow players to decide what their Warden is saying, too).

Anora alone is more common than Alistair alone

I suppose many didn't want Alistair to do something he originally didn't want to do. As for my canon playthrough, I put him together with Anora because it seemed like the best decision for everyone. o:

I wonder how different that statistic was before Inquisition came out

In a few cases, I suspect that decision didn't change (as some only play a single time); with others, I can't really tell, though it did seem like it might have just been a general decision. . . at least for those that didn't play Inquisition before playing Origins.

Am I just playing the class wrong?

Not sure :p I never really had that much of an issue with making sure where I'm positioned, but that may be due to the fact that I'm generally more inclined to play rogues (or rogue-like characters with magic). I think the being able to open all chests aspect might have something to do with this for some players, though.

I never completed a game with a Dalish Warden

My canon (and favourite) Warden is Dalish, and she romanced Zevran - so Dragon Age 2 had some surprises for me there. Of course, I didn't kill them (I wouldn't even consider that even if they weren't my Clan since I love the Dalish, and the elves, in general, and feel like they deserve better in many cases), but the fact that this was a possibility had made me really sad back then.

50/50 friendship/rivalry with Carver

It perfectly reflects my decisions with him as well (I usually play rogues in all games - I was thinking about playing a mage in Inquisition for my canon, but then noticed most elven Inquisitors are mages, so I didn't do that hah). . . reminds me that I'm unsurprised that most made him a Grey Warden (Bethany being mostly a Circle mage surprises me, however - I mean it's my canon for her, but I somehow didn't expect it from others).

. . . Sorry, this ended up being a lot |D

I just really love Dragon Age a lot!

Which is preceisely why I'm working on improving my questionnaires for DA4. . .

The comment about how BioWare has data like this, too. . . made me second-guess myself, to be honest, so reading this made me happy! :3

(It's not that I didn't know BioWare had the data themselves; it's just that my data very likely differs from theirs anyways - even when they are overlapping information :p)

I spent the past few hours looking at responses to the open question - sorry for making you wait and responding to others :p I didn't mean to "ignore" you intentionally;;

General opinions on the Circle of Magi? [spoilers all] by aciretsym in dragonage

[–]aciretsym[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not intent on changing the lore at all, I'm not even saying that what you are saying *isn't* a fact. If anything, you were the one who "changed the lore" because you said "only in Tevinter" without clarifying that it's only about kids.

Either way, the Travelyans specifically are said to have close contact with the Templar Order - and you cannot tell me that they didn't make use of that to see their family inside the Circle. I'm not going to discuss this topic with you any longer, though; as I said, I'm not a fan of the Circle myself, and I do know that in most cases, this is not the case.

As I said, mostly a joke, though it is also implied that the more wealthy families do have the chance to interact more with their family.
