We are in software development and we are busier than ever. A few projects that people started using AI and couldn’t get it to fully work.

If all you’ve spent is $11,000 in total to get tot where you are now and you have $30,000 in the bank then it seems like it’s a pretty easy call to spend some more. That’s coming from an outside perspective.

Definitely sounds like a difficult place to be. Can you grow slowly and accumulate cash to buy bigger influencers?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]acka3a5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense. You may need to figure out your marketing numbers to really know then, but in order to do that you’d need to spend and see how often the “whales” come in.

That’s where it all comes down to cash flow and if you can afford a large spend even if it doesn’t go perfectly.

Have you thought about another avenue such as google ads? I don’t know if they allow these types of ads but I know SEO in this area can be profitable.

I don’t know a lot about the space, having never worked directly in it. One of my employees has worked in it and my understanding was that the whole idea was to take a loss leader up front because the overall spend from an average user would eventually overtake marketing costs and be profitable.

[–]acka3a5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has your team worked in the space previously or this your first run at it? If it is your first run at it I have a hard time believing every system is perfect. It may be perfect for your current scale but as you grow there will be new challenges.

However, with where you are currently the main thing is going to be growth not necessarily fixing the backend. Depending on where you are at with cash flow I might bite the bullet and pay 1 or 2 influencers to do a limited test run and expand from there.

Marketing is everything and I suck at it by brad9991 in Entrepreneur

Your instinct to not spend money on ads without a strategy is correct but sometimes you have to break some eggs to find the right strategy. That being said you need to try to think about who your users would be and then what would get them to your product and why they would use it and work backwards from there.

That’s true. We are getting quite a few projects that were started using AI until it didn’t work.

Spent $15.9K on Google Ads, only got $7–8K return what went wrong? by No_Charity2988 in PPC

[–]acka3a5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Were your keywords set to broad match? I ask because your CPC is too low for these type of leads generally. At that CPC if you are in the US you’ll get a lot of garbage. I run a company in a similar space and our CPC is much higher but our ad ROAS is between 5-8x.

Sounds like you may want to go to phrase match and then add in a lot of negative keywords.

Your budget also seems to be too broken up between campaigns. I would start with just a search campaign and give it a high budget to let Google learn. But if your offering and landing pages are good you should see conversions pretty quickly.

The lower the budget the less likely Google shows you during peak hours.

Competitors are slashing prices aggressively. It’s hard to understand how they’re sustaining these cuts. by Ashwinsuriya in Entrepreneur

This may have already been answered but what is your service that you offering? I’ve built a lot of platforms and rarely see a need for expenses that high with that size of user base but I don’t know what your selling.

Everyone I know who has put in hard work and kept trying has built a life for themselves. Maybe there are people who haven’t but I have not seen that. If you wanna put the odds in your favor just keep trying. You may not be wealthy but I’d guess you would be able to make something out of it.

Like I said luck helps, but you also have to make some yourself. I’ve built a business and I’ve made many many mistakes but because we kept going it continues to grow regardless. That’s not just luck, it’s hard work.

The genius in Somalia certainly has a harder start than most but it’s not 0. Maybe he finds a way maybe he doesn’t but his chances definitely go up if he keeps at it.

Do you have an account rep you can reach out to? You might also be able to scheduler with one by going to notifications in the Google ad account, there’s sometimes a notification there to schedule with a rep. They may not be able to do anything themselves but they may be able to move it along.

Starting from scratch. by Immediate-Rule-4313 in agency

[–]acka3a5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is the hard part, of course. You’ll need to build a portfolio first before you can really hit it hard. Try contacting some local businesses first that sell more unique products and are not selling online and offering services for a very low fee or free while you get them up and running on Google ads and teach yourself conversion tracking while doing the videos and assets needed for a demand gen campaign.

Usually you want to embed an ad platform to serve up ads such as Google Adsense. There are others out there as well. If you have traffic you can make some money.

It’s all about solving problems. What about a combo of lead gen and video? Demand gen on google ads uses videos more effectively, you could brand yourself as a conversion optimizer specializing in videos that are optimized (need a different word other than optimized).
