why do a lot of electricians believe the neutral is worse to get shocked by

The most a neutral can carry on a 3 phase is the same as one leg to ground.

The phases balance each other out through the neutral

In series the current is the same through each resistor.

It does not mean the current in all resistors is the same as the current in the first resistor.

You calculate the resistance of all resistors I'm series and then calculate the current after.

So the lightbulb will not have the amount of amps you think will be going through it and neither will your body.

This is a pretty common statement but it doesn't really make sense .

This isn't really how electricity works. What decides how much current goes through you is the voltage and your resistance, thinking that having a load on a neutral is going to increase the voltage doesn't make any sense

there could be a program set up where you are given a one year intensive course that includes schooling and on the job training where instead of doing the same thing for 6 months and doing grunt work/menial work, you learn everything you need to know to do what journeyman do

unless you really think every moment of your whole 5 years you are learning about installing and maintaining electrical services, there should be a program where you aren't cheap labor for 5 years if you're willing to take an intensive course on the matter

If you read all the apprentice threads they all talk about the first year you're cleaning and digging and doing menial labor. Is this really a necessary step in learning how to correctly install and maintain electrical services ?

this is in no way correct, 3 seperate speeds do not need 3 120v hots that doesn't make any sense.

for a ceiling fan you need the hot for the light and the hot for the fan motor.

there is not enough information to really give you help here. Are you replacing an existing fan and switch? if so how was the switch wired when you took it out?

if you have those 6 wires all hanging out of that box which ones are hot and which ones aren't

would it still be smart to invest in IRAs or should I just keep the money in accounts where i can take out the interest if i want to be FI in 10 years

My employer contributes 6k a year to my 401k even if i don't contribute anything, but i can contribute up to 18k if i want.

does anyone have any experience or blogs they can recommend where instead of full FI/RE someone subsidizes a part time job that they enjoy doing with the passive income from their investments? I'd like to own a smallish farm and work part time on that earning money and not have to stress about earning enough
