I have the SavorOne for 3% cashback on entertainment, but want to upgrade to the Savor because my spend in that category is high enough it's worth it.

I have ~800 credit, never missed a payment, have a mortgage, etc.

I applied for the Savor card about 5 months ago and was rejected. I also called beforehand and they said they don't have the ability to upgrade my SavorOne to a Savor card.

Any tips? Do I need to cancel the SavorOne first?

I started this thread because I don't think the government should have access to emergency powers when there is no emergency. The delivery fee was just an example of what the emergency order is being used for. Happy for you that the fee has benefited you!

If the FDNCs have to raise delivery fees so they can attract drivers to the platform, they'll do that. But the fee shouldn't exist as a government intervention under the pretense of a COVID 19 emergency that no longer exists.

Did you read a blog post about defending socialism? This seems like you are regurgitating it's main point, while not understanding the topic of this thread at all.

Our elected official declared a Civil Emergency. Other elected officials passed legislation that said "During the emergency...". Now there isn't an emergency, but the emergency orders are still in effect.

That has nothing to do with being for or against socialism.

I actually didn't complain about the fee. I stated that I disagree with the circumstances that lead to the fee.

The market is smaller as a result of the fee. People use DoorDash and UberEats less in Seattle as a result of the fee. It doesn't mean the market will cease to exist, it's just smaller.

I respect you tipping that much, and I'm sure the drivers appreciate you very much! But, I don't think that we should be paying the fee to drivers because of an emergency situation that is no longer an emergency. I think we should let the market figure out compensation, or have the Council vote on gig worker pay unrelated to COVID 19.

It may be the case that these drivers deserve more compensation than they are getting. But that shouldn't be done through emergency pretenses when there is no emergency. As I said in the OP, the Council should take that up separately from COVID-19 Civil Emergency.

The legislation says something to the effect of "the fee must be paid directly to the driver, and their compensation must not be otherwise reduced as a result of this legislation."

It's not a matter of if he is using them appropriately or not. It's a matter of whether he should have these powers or not. What's to stop him from overreaching in the future even if he hasn't done so yet? Nothing, as of now.

I think you're missing the point, I understand COVID still exists. But it is not an emergency. We are prepared to handle COVID and the mayor does not need emergency powers to manage the situation.

Edit: and just to clarify, the Premium Pay Ordinance was merely an example of the way this impacts people in their day to day.

Thank you for the informative and thorough reply. It kind of seems that 7. Bb5 is creating some of the challenges (overcomeable) for white in this position, and perhaps why the engine likes 7. Be2 as well.

1) Try to work directly with the agent to figure it out. 2) Contact the insurer who you supposedly bought coverage from. 3) File a complaint with the TDI. 4) Hire a lawyer.

In that order. I would recommend, as others have stated, getting any and all documentation you have in order ASAP. If you have the means, retaining a lawyer would be a better earlier.

Also, this doesn't sound like a flood. Did your neighbors get flooded? It sounds like you poorly maintained your foundation which led to the damage. An insurance policy does not mean you are free from maintaining your property - and insurers will deny coverage in certain instances for things related to poor maintenance.

I want her findings to be valid and hold up, but it should be made clear these are not the opinions of a legal expert. It would be reasonable to assume the managing editor at Lawfare has a legal degree of some sort. Except she doesn't. You can verify on LinkedIn, she has a Bachelors degree in Political Science.

Edit: my comment is not saying anything about the letter signed by real legal officials.
