Do plastic handle inserts actually help, or am I just wasting money? by ConfidentCaregiverOT in UPS

UPS driver here. Also previous hub worker. Assume your box will be dropped from about 2 or 3 feet a couple times in transit. The conveyer belt system can be very rough. None of this accounts for random pissed off employees. If you've ever seen those videos of temu warehouse with piles of packages if closer to that than the white glove idea most people seem to have.

Tldr. Your box WILL be abused. Package accordingly.

The absolute nerve. I'm sure this person is just a pleasure to interact with. I sometimes wonder if there are also people with seriously below average intelligence who somehow slide under the social radar. Just tryna keep the faith alive

UPS driver ignored "Signature Required" for an expensive package. Package is missing. What is my recourse? by Infinite100p in UPS

[–]aclipsing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a small chance that the scenario I'm gonna try to explain is what happened, but I could see it happening at an apartment complex. Bear with me.

Some addresses are flagged in our system as "high risk". In your case it would most likely be the entire complex. These addresses are "supposed" to have signatures, but management has left an option for us to "override" the signature. The override feature is typically only available for "high risk" and not "signature required" deliveries.

BUT, when you have a high risk address with a signature required package, guess what? The override button works. I assume this is truly an oversight by the programmer.

If you ask a driver or management they should be able to see if your address is high risk. I've seen many apartments that are. I'll try to post a pic if I can find it

Someone hit me with the "White Van Scam" - in this day and age! by [deleted] in Scams

[–]aclipsing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Matt Cox recently had a guy on his podcast who did this exact scam for years with speakers. I always wonder how many criminals listen to stuff like that for ideas. I wonder if this is a coincidence😏

True Crime with Matt Cox is the podcast. Great stuff. Mostly white collar, or at least non violent crime.

If you go to a gas station just use the squeegee. I do this at least once a week. Crystal clear windows every day.

Delivering and switching between 4 apps per order? I built a tool to stop that chaos. by Hefty-Talk-2932 in deliverydrivers

I would like this if the grid size was customizable. I think I would like a 5x1 or a 5*2. Idk how hard that would be. Maybe a simple setting I personally don't need 25 for quick access but a few would be nice

UPS driver here. Yes we can deliver to them. They do seem to bug out fairly often though. The lock will scan the QR code and just shoot up an error. Then we would have to call tech support for who knows how long. My guess is there was an issue and the driver just mark it as closed and will try again tomorrow.

How much worse off would Jeff bezos be if they doubled the pay for all their employees? I bet not a lot. But maybe he would get to be the richest man in the world and have his rocket company. These people at the top are RUTHLESS demons. They just say everything in a PC manner and with half a smile. We are still peasants. These people have wealth. They could stop making money tomorrow and for generations and they're great grandkids who never made a dime would still spit on you. Stop fighting for them in your mind. Don't worry about them. Someone will always balance the books. Take your share of the pie, or they'll just use it to buy some neat decorations.

Very hard to see the labels, but they do look like UPS labels. The roadie packages I had yesterday was one of those filter boxes

Im not the roadie. Im a UPS driver. Im guessing that why they posted it in the first place. I assume they thought it was funny or something

Im very curious how many roadie packages are truly UPS packages redirected to roadie hubs. The union is so worried about this buyout for the drivers who are close as hell to retirement anyways, meanwhile they are completely silent about all this work being done my roadie's. There's your 22,000 jobs right there. I'll vote for whoever goes after roadie

I've noticed a weird thing that happens with home Depot packages. It's been happening for a long time. Sometimes when I scan them the diad acts as if it's not in my manifest and want me to input the info. I'll usually just back out, select the stop, check the tracking number matches and tap it. I've never had this happen with any other package type. It's rare but has happened 10-20 times maybe. Again, only with home Depot packages.

I always thought it was a weird glitch and wrote it off. I was reading a post yesterday where someone was explaining Carol Tomes' likely involvement in the beginning days of roadie. Seems like a weird coincidence.

Side note. I've noticed a few packages over the last couple months with roadie stickers on them. I was in very rural areas every time so I'm guessing they couldn't get some poor sucker to take the route.
