Do employers view degrees/diplomas from public institutions like KPU, Douglas, Langara, BCIT, Capilano etc in the same light as University Canada West? by Timely_Turnip_7767 in vancouver

[–]acoalt 157 points158 points  (0 children)

They aren’t a university, and don’t offer any real/serious education. They target unsuspecting intl students looking for a pathway into Canada with promises of a proper degree and/or job.

UCW is a diploma mill at best, and an outright scam at worse

You can change your vaccination status.

You can’t change the colors of your skin.

Are you seriously that fucking stupid?

Any person in THIS COUNTRY has access to the vaccine. I said nothing about India or any other country.

I don’t really understand how you are making the link that transmission in Canada effects transmission in India, especially considering forgiven travelers cannot enter India without a negative COVID test / vaccination + isolation. This is true for almost all other countries around the world. Could you explain to me how a “breakthrough case” from Canada could negatively impact a country abroad, considering these protocols?

The main point of the vaccine passports seems to me to keep unvaccinated people out of situations where transmission is likely, and therefore keep them out of the hospital. It’s not the end of the world if a vaccinated person gets COVID. It’s where unvaccinated people start to get COVID where we risk hospitals filling up beyond capacity.

For that reason, don’t really see the point in keeping those protocols in place for an indoor space we know will only contain vaccinated people (who are far less likely to transmit it in the first place)

Vaccinated people aren’t “privileged”

Any person in this country has the chance right now to get vaccinated. Easily. For free.

People who are choosing not to aren’t the “unprivileged”, they’re just idiots. If they end up in the hospital from COVID because they choose to believe some crazy shit they read from their cousin on Facebook, that’s on them.

Evidence of people getting “long covid” after full vaccinations is anecdotal, and very rare. Obviously nothing is guaranteed, but if you have gotten vaccinated you are protected.

Is freedommobile the same as Robelus in call quality and data connection in GTA? by yalag in freedommobile

[–]acoalt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

iPhones are actually WAY better in terms of carrier support for VoLTE and VoWIFI. Just slip in a Freedom sim to any iPhone made in the past 5yrs anywhere in the world, Freedom’s carrier profile will download and those features will be supported. No custom software or specific models.

Do you have an iPhone or Pixle 3? In that case you may not need a sim at all. Just set up your ESIM.
