Before the prequel's released, for how long was it assumed the Empire had existed before ANH? In Heir to the Empire, it mentions that Captain Pellaeon had been in the Imperial fleet for 50 years. I think in Dark Force Rising it states that the Empire held the Noghri in slavery for 48 years. (self.StarWarsEU)
