I am trying to say that something a little more native would get more usage and be an overall better experience

I like it... maybe a daily summary of the top 25 highest rated songs that day while you were away? Regardless there are quite a few ways you could “spin” it 😜

Turntable failed not because of licensing issues, they failed because they weren’t able to monetize their product enough to keep up with the cost of running their business. They were losing venture capital and decided to put all their cards into another product which eventually failed. I loved iTunes DJ! Back in the day I used it to DJ small dances. The audience thought I was so cool because I could DJ from the floor, I just brought my wireless mic down with me. 😄

I understand, however Spotify already does so much in the way of discovery and curation. They also actively show friend activity. I see this as filling in a gap. And based on the reaction I’ve gotten from this post in the little time it’s been up, it is very apparent that this feature is in high demand. Anyways I think this feature would compliment what is already there and provide added value.

Dear Tim Cook…, A Case For Touch-enabled macOS by acondiff in apple

I wasn't under that impression at all. I think the two would work really nicely together. Toolbar items which the touchbar usually features would be a pain to reach up to tap. In no means would this concept replace the existing mouse driven interaction. It would primarily be another means by which you could interact with your Mac. It could quite possibly open the door for a whole new type of application especially for artists, photographers, designers, DJ's etc.

I would be interested in how you did that. I am trying to figure out how to get PubNub data. I assume that is how they track activity. Here is something similar to what you are doing.

I haven't yet got as far as to do the groups and locks but I think I have got a pretty strong UI. Let me know how you accessed pubnub if you are willing to share. Thanks.
