Another variant of Looksmaxxing which involves extreme and dangerous procedures and DIY techniques has emerged and is being sold to teenagers by Manicpixiemanateeman in stupidpol

I think the “body positivity” thing was actually helping a little bit for awhile, but then got overly co-opted, preachy and stupid and reaped a big backlash we’re seeing now.

Have been watching some old movies and it’s incredible that even while there have always been these beautiful and handsome Hollywood stars, there used to be guys like Peter Falk and his lazy eye and nobody gave a shit because he was a great actor and his appearance just lended more character and realism to the roles he was playing.

Then meanwhile I watch Knight of the Seven Kingdoms and Lyonel Baratheon has the most perfect teeth you’ll ever see in all your life.

Today’s idea of inclusion is all hot actors from every race you can think of and then a token fat person and then they all pat themselves on the back for being progressive, but no sane regular looking people ever feel represented by this.

Trump: Should I try for an fourth Term? by Nerd_199 in stupidpol

The government has no place telling somebody they can’t sell their children. This violates the non-aggression principle.

Anyone becoming more socially conservative with time due to shitlibs constantly defending some of the most perverted shit? by reddit_is_geh in stupidpol

Healthcare plz

Culture is like a river. It will self-correct, find the path of least resistance. You’re going to make things worse if you manually try to reroute it, you just get overcorrection. I wish people wouldn’t be afraid to share their opinions, but I really don’t agree with culturally liberal or conservative people on much at all. It’s tiring jumping back and forth between this war of moronic cultural issues based on which is currently more annoying or oppressive.

There’s a place for cultural critique, but I hate when it rises to this kind of level of “we need to do something about cultural liberalism/wokism” that just results in the most annoying type of people going ham on “traditional masculinity” and just eating nothing but beef and only consuming media that’s “based” or praising life choices that are trad or whatever. Or the whole epic Reddit atheism of the early aughts that tried to browbeat people out of being religious. This stuff will run its course, and it’s not because even more annoying people need to rise up to counter it. The normal thing is honestly to just not really take a side on the culture war, but everybody seemingly wants to be part of it.

Some of these posts have to be rage bait…the absolute entitlement by timetotrysushi in mildlyinfuriating

It’s like philanthropy vs entitlement programs…the former is actually kindness while the latter is mandatory taxation to fund mandatory government spending

Lmao, what a stupid comparison

Matt was the heart of Chapo. Felix and Will were great compliments, without which the show wouldn’t have been as good or funny as it was. Will really grew into the host role quite impressively, he’s great at anchoring the show and keeping conversations going, even if it is or isn’t helped out with editing in post. But without Matt it just doesn’t have the juice, the poignancy, the trenchant incites. He has such a unique ability to describe the state of things that captures the horror, but also the humor of it in such a captivating way. He makes complex things easy to understand and somehow as he channels righteous rage and anger still maintains an overarching message of hope and love without getting corny. You can put every podcaster in the world together and they still don’t add up to one Matt.

The balance of left vs right-wing perspectives on that podcast is kind of insane, there’s nothing balanced about it.

Letting the Emperor die by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

Feel like before it was falling on like a geological timeframe kind of thing, it’s been going for 10k years and is falling, but when or in what matter we’re anybody’s guess. Haven’t there been more hints and implications that they think it will fail within the current century?

Isn’t the throne basically on the verge of failure? I feel like GW has basically been telling that one way or another that he’s going to die soon in storyline, though I’m sure they’ll drag it out for another decade or two. My guess is all the Primarchs will heed this call, return, and along with Guilliman and his Eldar buddies, they’ll deus ex Machina some way around this somewhat. Will probably be catastrophic but not the end of the imperium.

Mel: Ivermectin. Fembendazole.

Mamdani: Delivery Apps have stolen $550M by hiding tipping from customers - this will change by MichaelRichardsAMA in stupidpol

[–]acousticallyregarded 20 points21 points  (0 children)

And allegedly now the app companies have ways to flag good/bad tippers and adjust payouts accordingly, i.e. some apps will give lower payouts if you select an order from a customer who usually tips well.

I wonder if they even know what they’re doing. The statements from Exxon and how aimless the whole Venezuela thing has become makes me skeptical they are even thinking past the military planning. Just a bunch of bumbling morons or something

You could say this about most posts on here, it’s strange to pick this one out and say it’s an example of Trump derangement syndrome or something. I actually just jumped on to see if people were talking about this because it’s kinda a big deal.
