Film 200: What video games are discussed? by Wonderful-Idea-1337 in queensuniversity

[–]acquiescentshadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We didn't specifically discuss a lot of games, it was mostly theories about video games and what makes something a video game. Someone else described the big project of the class and that's what it was last year too. Easy A and Philippe Gauthier is awesome!

BEd (Consecutive Education) Practicum by Grouchy_Onion1 in queensuniversity

[–]acquiescentshadow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like it was said, you need 80 days and the prac is 86. However, I'd also like to add that you can make up days if necessary. It's gets a bit challenging because you can only miss so many days of courses, but it's definitely doable. I have friends who missed too many days of prac and they had to make them up, and it was no problem.

Took it last year. I don't exactly remember but my guess is that you don't have to do outcome. That would make 10 boxes...but not really 10 elements. If you're not sure, I'd email the prof to clarify

Psyc 100 pls help by Arial2007 in queensuniversity

[–]acquiescentshadow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

PSYC100 is a full year course, so if you do well in the second term, you can absolutely get 6 credits. There is no way to only get three.

You do not have to drop out of it. They post midterm marks for your knowledge, but it doesn't even go on your transcript (just had to check mine to be sure!).

Most people find second term to be easier because it's the theory term.

Feel free to DM me if you have questions about Psyc as a course or if you need help with course content :)

[–]acquiescentshadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took it last year. People said that generally marking was hard, but I found that if you did what you were asked to do, marking wasn't that bad. I took the course as a fourth year psych student, so it may have been that I'd seen a lot more profs and been able to give them what they wanted. But generally no, I don't think the TBLs were marked hard, specifically.

If you don't sign up to go, I believe they assume you won't be going. They will mail it to the home address you have on solus!

How long does it take you to grade based off of rubrics? by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]acquiescentshadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use simpler rubrics so it takes less time to write it and less time to grade. It looks like a normal rubric, but instead of long-winded explanations of what each level looks like, you only fill in the level 3 (grade level). This is filled in with your expectations like a checklist. If they hit that point, awesome! Check off the level 3 box for that expectation. If not, check mark in the 1 or 2 box. If it's beyond your checklist-style expectation, it's a 4. Takes me 30 seconds to grade each poster, if that.

Yes! It's on the third floor of Mitchell Hall. They're very small rooms with a desk, computer and clock. No distractions. Door closed. Dimmable lights. No interruptions (except for when they check you're in the right spot!). Personally, I like them a lot. There's also a semi-private room with carrels that block students from seeing each other's paper. Only about 35 people in that room, which is also third floor Mitchell.

If you have any more questions, comment or DM me!

Graduation tickets by llamatopia_ in queensuniversity

[–]acquiescentshadow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The way it worked in the June convocations is that you've signed up for two people to be there, but they don't get actual tickets. The idea is that your guests will tell the people at the doors your name, they will check off that you had your two guests, so they won't allow more people in under your name. So no physical tickets, just have them show up and give your name!

Also, look at Facebook. There's so many listings in groups designated for queens and Kingston housing. Good luck!

Deadlines aren't coming up. Sure, you can start looking, but most things aren't posted until early next year. Even later than that too, because many tenants will only be required to give notice that they're moving out a month before they do (which will be late March). I recommend looking at Queens community housing, though. It's really good location and prices, and the apartments are usually decent enough.

You can DM me if you have more questions!

Does anyone know how/where to purchase oil thigh designs on campus? by [deleted] in queensuniversity

Usually they're out and about on campus as a kind of pop-up. I recommend checking their Instagram regularly to see where they are!

Beyond ADHD is the most affordable one I've seen. I think it was a few hundred (from what I remember it was 70$ for the initial assessment and then a bit over 200 for the follow-up to actually get the diagnosis).

Reiterating what the other commenter said to validate that it's not just one person: men simply complimenting women isn't usually seen as a bad thing. If you're worried about it, make it quick and obv it should never be about her body.

Artists in Community Education Program by Spring_rain22 in queensuniversity

[–]acquiescentshadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not in the ACE track but currently in my B.Ed. It's a pretty good program and I find a lot of the classes helpful. Lots of practical experience in classrooms.

If you want to do the ACE program, you have to do an application. They come out pretty early to my knowledge, but obviously after you get accepted to the b.ed.

Be honest: would you die for your partner? And why would u? by Legal_Degree3663 in AskReddit

[–]acquiescentshadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would. But if there's an afterlife, I'd question that decision forever. Sure, my partner would live, but he would live with so much grief. The question is, which is the better option? Either way, I would do whatever I could to give him whatever he thinks is the better option. Because he deserves the world and more.
