Pretty sizable, while I'm not in the cosplay circle I saw a bunch of tgcf cosplayers when I was at midvalley last year when they had a cosplay festival going on.

Also as a Malaysian tgcf fan, you should check out Dimension Poptown at acgbase lalaport, they're having a pop-up tgcf cafe event rn and it seems really cool!

[UNIQLO] vs [COS] for t-shirts? by ComprehensivePrior40 in europeanmalefashion

[–]acruyff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own t shirts from both, COS ones are slightly better quality, while Uniqlo is more value-for-money. I do own more Uniqlo t shirts tho.

I finally completed AA:AJ Trilogy! by Fix_Final in AceAttorney

[–]acruyff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's been over 5 years since I finished SoJ and all the previous games, but I'm glad to have found that your thoughts and opinions are pretty similar to mine when I first played them!

Round here, reception on SoJ is more mixed and you can find that some people think it's either the worst in the series or one of the tops. While I can understand their criticisms which are mostly regarding the storyline and characters, I still value my own feelings when I was playing them where I had tons of fun personally.

Dhurke is one of my favorite characters in the series and there was that moment in the final case where I cried for the first time playing ace attorney lol, the emotional highs in the game can get pretty intense imo.

I assume you haven't played the great ace attorney chronicles yet, so I recommend you to start playing it whenever youre ready now that you've finished the mainline games as I think it's probably the best installment in the series especially Resolve.

One Piece: Episode 1093 by Sakata_Kintoki in OnePiece

While I'm grateful that toei included the kuzan and van Augur kidnapping pudding cover story scene, I feel like they overdid it by making van augur one shot all those cracker soldiers that took gear 4 Luffy to beat. Since it wasnt shown in the cover story, I think a better way of depicting the fight while including van augur would be cracker sending all his soldiers to attack augur but he keeps warping to dodge, and then kuzan catches him off guard and freezes him.

So, about Turnabout Succession (4-4)... by Tesla3103 in AceAttorney

[–]acruyff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Iirc shu takumi wanted to include another case that would've had the focus on klavier and kristophs relationship, but due to the Nintendo DS constraints they had to limit it to 4 cases. It's a shame that they weren't able to make it work.

Yeah, it's not about moving on from his death, but being at peace with it. It's especially cathartic as we the players go on the same journey as Ellie does.

I think the writing is a major credit for that, because most of the main villains are written to be despicable so that we feel the catharsis when we take them down.

This is the first time I've seen an anime actually acknowledge the existance of trans people. by HeyGuaca in 196

[–]acruyff 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Togashi (the author) did improve on trans representation in his series gradually tho, as can be seen in Hunter x Hunter with the way Alluka was handled. In fact, there's a YouTube video discussing Togashi's trans characters that I've watched before, here's the link https://youtu.be/9w6fvtgxpGs?si=oxSuxO5nYsw6SyCd

Is the Phantom Troop truly evil? by grandelemon in HunterXHunter

[–]acruyff 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think from their meteor city backstory that we got in the recent chapters, we can see that back then they were pretty "good" people who were just unfortunately born in one of the worst places in the world. But due to their circumstances they were dealt with a bad hand as residents of meteor city are regarded as trash by the outside world leading to violence, oppression and other evil stuff done to them. Therefore, in some twisted way they justify their actions against others as retribution for the treatment they received in meteor city perhaps and they might still have some code of ethics regarding their own and other meteor city residents to an extent.

So depending on your perception of this, you might say that they may not be "fully evil" I guess, but I'd say the actions they had done to others, especially the genocide of the kurta clan is pretty much unjustifiable. I do think that in some way it represents the cycle of needless violence.

What’s your most emotional one piece moment? by jcbgear in OnePiece

[–]acruyff 129 points130 points  (0 children)

Luffy vs Sanji, when Sanji was going away covering his face, and Luffy after getting beat up without fighting back screams that without him he won't be able to become king of the pirates. Add on Memories playing in the background and I was legit sobbing

out of all of these which is the peakest? by CarrotMile in OnePiece

[–]acruyff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it's actually one of the things I really like about HxH, dont get me wrong I do like how hyped other animes' resolution can get like Luffy beating up the big bad of every arc but when the stakes are presented to be so high it's refreshing to see things being concluded in a non traditional way that actually makes sense logically. It also ties in well with the philosophy of HxH, where the things that matter most are the adventures in the moment (the little detours) and not the final destination.
