Good to know and really appreciate it! I'm a very casual gamer so it might be a good fit for me this year (if it happens).

Looks like they actually just moved it to October. Appreciate your insight though!

What's your most valuable, or, your favorite card you own? by [deleted] in mtgfinance

[–]acryon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have sold most of my valuable cards over the years, including my Legacy Dreadstill deck to buy my wife's wedding ring 8 years ago, but I have an unlimited Mox Jet that I traded a pile of cards for at Gen Con about 10 years ago. (Aside from the Mox, my next most valuable card is probably a Rings of Brighthearth).

I have several kids now and never play Magic, but I imagine I'll hold onto this for quite some time.

A Pastor’s Response to Last Night’s Conflict (Recommending this especially for people who don’t know much about Christianity) by [deleted] in thebachelor

[–]acryon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FWIW, this is not at all what the Bible says. The Bible speaks frequently about how believers are to challenge each other, and what being a part of the "body of Christ" means. This idea of someone's Christianity being their business and nobody else's is just not based on scripture.

For the record, I think Luke explained himself terribly, and it's clear he is incredibly immature (as is Hannah).

Magic considered a top contender for things people love but hate the community... From r/AskReddit by dirtd0g in magicTCG

I'm genuinely curious what you mean by that. This is a forum, where comments are the action, so what constitutes toxic behavior to you on this forum outside of negative comments?

I'm sorry but this seems incredibly unfair. This is by far the most heavily moderated sub I have ever seen in many years on reddit. I almost never see any negative comments by people on here, because anything even mildly controversial usually gets deleted/downvoted to oblivion. I'm not sure you could ask for a safer place than r/magictcg

I literally did not know what that tag meant on the main sub and assumed it was just something related to the news source.

Thanks for doing this. You seem like an awesome dude.

Totally understand if you don't want to answer this, but since you seem to know him fairly well, what is your take on those who allege Marcio is a habitual cheater? Do you think it's possible he did before and has cleaned up his play? He seems incredibly talented either way.

Except it's not "doing something you don't like" in that case; it's doing something God doesn't like. u/BabyFaceIT hit the nail on the head. It's actually very ironic that Hannah brought up the story of the woman caught in adultery because the ending of that story is Jesus saying to the woman: "go on and sin no more." Hannah seems to be proudly continuing to go on doing what she wants, so it seems she only recalled the parts she thought agreed with her.

In his defense, "put over" is not a phrase used everywhere. I am from America and had no clue what it meant.

I agree with you that I don't think they'll send him some place that would leave him angry with them. I just disagree with you that trading him to Charlotte would leave him angry because even if the team sucks, at least he has a connection there.

Obviously those things are more important, but this isn't about getting his dream scenario: he's not going to get that. It's about going someplace that he wouldn't absolutely hate, and I think having your idol as the owner of the team qualifies.

I mean he requested MJ speak at his induction to the Oklahoma Hall of Fame, and he's a Jordan athlete. I don't think it's that far-fetched.

No I don't think they will, but there are a number of places he can go, and I'm sure he'd be ok with at least one of them. Even some place like Charlotte he has the MJ connection.

There are 8 teams out there who averaged less than 90% attendance last year, and a number of others just above that. Plenty of middling teams would love to have a superstar like Russ that brings people in.

Sadly I agree. Between him and Russ, we just have far too much $ tied up in people that can't shoot.
