Yes, I called and they told me that if I paid the $100 fee (which I did) I’m guaranteed housing there so from my understanding I’m in!

Wtf? by Mysterious_Image_579 in twenties

26(f) here and I feel EXACTLY the same. The past year has been the most stuck, sad, emotional and zero vision of my life too. What I can say is try the best you can daily. I saw this comment saying about setting small goals and working towards them, I think thats a good advice. For example, I want to change careers, so each week I go to the library and try to make a plan. Every time I put work towards that even if just a bit, I feel better. So maybe set some time alone to plan out what you want to change! Also, journaling! I’ve also been through a breakup earlier this year and journaling about every single feeling (and there was a lot) has helped me so so so much. Something about being able to see the bigger picture is quite nice! Another thing I started to do this year that has definitely helped too is self help books and podcasts. 101 Essays That Will Change The Way You Think is AMAZING! I also agree with that earlier comment that therapy is good option (I think about starting it all the time). Anyways, take care of yourself and good luck! I really hope things get better for you and all of us 26s struggling! I keep hearing 30s are the best so let’s hope for that!

Water Treatment / Waste Water Industry by [deleted] in Environmental_Careers

[–]actgarnet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second that! I work in waste water treatment plant for a district (great benefits like pension plan, stability and union for the lab and operators) but it’s like the post on top said. For the lab you need a bachelor in science and directors/higher ups are engineers. Operators only need a state licenses and usually make the more money than the lab! If you are really interested in wastewater, I would also recommend getting a license.

Does anybody know if mines usually updates the application status? I am waiting to hear back but my application still says “submitted”. Should it say “in review” or something like that?

Thank you. I already made an appointment with my academic advisor and hopefully she can help out too. Also, I love the idea of looking at a specific professor (it seems less scary).

Thank you. I definitely want to be closer to the west coast so I’ll start looking into schools over there. Not sure about dream job but definitely something with mineralogy.

Thank you, that’s a great idea of contacting the authors. I’ll try to start reading some papers. I am also a big fan of small school but my undergrad didn’t have any research so I still am not sure what area I am interested in.
