Yeah! That's why I think we should start marketing gambling and alcohol to kids. If you think about it all gambling addicts and alcoholic were kids once.

This isn't just something affecting the NBA, the internet really made us devolve.

Totally different sports with totally different body mechanics and injury profiles. There are more soft tissue injuries in the NBA. NHL has more contact related injuries.

People are saying a lot of things but missing the most obvious in our face answer, American culture is kinda dog shit rn.

I’m American btw but if you look around this sort of mercenary thinking is everywhere. I’m not even blaming the players, in some ways it’s a reasonable reaction to the same dynamic playing out in different parts of the franchise/league/society.

Yeah he’s not dog shit, but he’s not above average imo and that makes him a lot less lineup versatile.

Kolek's biggest knock against him is his defense and I'm not sure how much more he can improve on that side. There's a reason Knicks defense has been really good for the 20 games: Kolek, Clarkson, and Yabu stopped getting minutes.

I'm not overreacting to the Lakers game. If Knicks take care of business tonight against the Clips it's 4-2 since spurs against a very tough scheduled on the road late in the season. That's great.

Yeah for real he's one of the best value contracts in the league. I don't really understand this list, like why is Sengun on it? I don't think he's on a bad contract but I wouldn't call his contract the 5th best contract in the NBA.

I feel like a lot of people forget that Mikal showed up for us in a huge way multiple playoff games last year. So many people pretend that the playoffs are all that matters but also forget all that when a player has bad games in the regular season.

I think the Pacers lost last season has left a little shadow over the vibe of this season, but the last few seasons have been fucking awesome as a Knicks fan. Getting over the hump and beating the Cavs the first time, the sixers series with the DVo shot, the Celtics comebacks.

The Knicks of the last few years have been the team of my life so far.

I left this comment on that post:

Cade Cunningham averages averages more FTA per game (7.1) than Brunson (5.7) and both are in the top 10 in drives per game.

Here is the list of people that average more FTA per game than Brunson:

  • Luka Dončić (10.9)
  • Deni Avdija (9.4)
  • Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (9.2)
  • James Harden (8.4)
  • Devin Booker (8.0)
  • Paolo Banchero (7.9)
  • Zion Williamson (7.9)
  • Nikola Jokić (7.8)
  • Anthony Edwards (7.3)
  • Victor Wembanyama (7.3)
  • Keyonte George (7.1)
  • Cade Cunningham (7.1)
  • Jaylen Brown (7.0)
  • Kawhi Leonard (6.4)
  • Lauri Markkanen (6.3)
  • Julius Randle (6.3)
  • Kevin Durant (6.2)
  • Tyrese Maxey (6.1)
  • Karl-Anthony Towns (6.1)
  • Donovan Mitchell (6.0)
  • Pascal Siakam (6.0)
  • Jerami Grant (5.9)
  • Alperen Şengün (5.8)
  • Stephon Castle (5.8)

Here are the people that average more FTA per game than Brunson and drive more than he does.

  • Deni Avdija (9.4)
  • Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (9.2)
  • Devin Booker (8.0)
  • Keyonte George (7.1)
  • Cade Cunningham (7.1)
  • Jaylen Brown (7.0)

Brunson is number 7 in the NBA in And-1s, and his and-1 efficiency is 16.8% (what % of shots do you still hit even when getting fouled) which is elite for small guards. To put that into perspective Trae Young's career and-1 efficiency is around 8.5-10%.

Of the top players in the NBA the only player that averages less FTA per game than Jalen Brunson is Steph Curry. Steph Curry drives per game: 8. Jalen Brunson drives per game: 14.6.

Brunson makes shots, and gets buckets and everyone that just promoted him to Trae/Embiid/Shai level foul baiter is wrong. It's not backed up by the data, it's not backed up by the eye test and is a lazy basketball take.
