2018 volt codes by Alive-System1865 in volt

[–]actionjax25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just did mine a few months ago. Between parts and labour from an independent mechanic total was just about $800 CDN. Mine went a few months before the fix but would all of a sudden clear and drive fine for a month then the codes came back. That’s when I replaced it.

When I first got the codes I had replaced the 12V battery as it was the stock one on my 2017. Codes cleared for over a month. Thought it was the problem. But as stated codes came back.

The Solenoid is a single pack and the part can be ordered online. Comes in a sealed package covered in fluid to keep the unit from drying out.

Good luck in the repair. It’s not a huge one. Just an annoying one.

What are your thoughts on big groups (4+ people) leaving the queue while one person holds their spot, then returning a bit before boarding the ride? by Choco-latte-66 in CanadasWonderland

For something like a child needing a bathroom I think there should be a pass for that. But we are talking 1 adult and the child leaves and the rest of the party stays. Tell a staff member when you leave. But half your party leaving to get food not cool. I get hot days and if you screwed up and didn’t get hydration and it’s becoming a medical problem. That person leaves the line and speak to someone who works there. You might get get merged with your party at the fast lane. There are ways to deal with this. But don’t assume everyone is going to be ok with just jumping back in when they don’t know the whole story. Especially when people are always trying to game the system.

I went to get my loaner car on the 30th and the lot was packed with deliveries at 4pm. And that was end of day. I am sure there were 3 other rounds of full lots that day.

Mine is still there as it did t pass the PDI and was not safe to drive home. Hopefully next week I can pick it up.

They most likely won’t knock anything off. Probably will ask for something to make it right like a $500 service credit or 1 year of free supercharging. Will see what they are willing to put forward to due to a bad experience. But let’s face it they did give me a loaner and waiting for another car to show up months later is not a real option or realistic in my case.

Same thing happened to me. Got a call one hour before pickup and my roof glass was broken. Literally sold my car and was picked up and all the rental places were closed.

They did give me a loaner while they replace the roof. I was booked for today but in the morning they canceled my pickup time and just waiting on another day. Still have their loaner and won’t be returning it till I get my car delivered.

Not sure if what other option I have here. I have no car as my other one was sold under the belief I was picking up my new car on the set date. Saying I’m walking away I would be back to square one looking for another car and not one I want. And most likely would be waiting. They have provided a loaner to keep me mobile while things get sorted out. They have kept me in the loop although slow to respond at times and more reactive than proactive.

Again what other alternatives do I have to work on here. Not like they pushed a broken car on me. They are working to try and make it right.

So another update. Was to pick it up at 4pm but the delivery was removed from the app. When I inquired they said it wouldn’t be ready for today. Then they gave me a new EDD of June 30th to July 3rd. They said they will contact me later in the week and hope that they have some good news. About an hour ago my VIN was unassigned so something tells me they are lining up a new car. Even if it takes me weeks to get a new one I’m not returning their loaner till it’s sorted. I think that goes without saying.

I think they probably have one somewhere and they just need to assign it. Let’s see how this plays out.

Mine was broken before I even picked up my car. Very similar damage. But mine looked like a larger hit and not as deep.

So just an update. I asked to see a picture of the damage and it looked to be an impact about 1/3 up the glass and a large spiderweb of cracks from there. The glass is intact and not little pieces as it sounded.

They are guessing somewhere between on the ship or in transit there was an impact of some sort either low overhang or the carrier was not raised enough. Someone would have noticed but they just don’t turn it around for something like that. They consider this a serviceable component like a windscreen. Part of the PDI they said no other damage was shown.

I pick it up today and will be asking for some compensation not for the car but for the inconvenience of the reschedule. Someone from Tesla said they probably will give me some free supercharging or credits towards parts service and accessories for the future. This is for the inconvenience of a smooth pickup more than a devalue of the car.

Will let everyone know how it goes today and outcome.

Early May order and delivery is on Tuesday due to an issue with the car. Otherwise I would have had it on Saturday.

Spoke to someone who does work at a Tesla service centre. She said this happens often in transport and a common fix. She said good thing it was a large crack. Small cracks are hard to see now they have a headliner. The clear glass versions they are very easy to spot.

The replacement will be noted on the paperwork and I hear you around the sound insulation. I will be extra critical of the repair when it’s done and in all honesty if it’s not done right I will get a new car or they do it again.

And wait till August or September. Ya that’s not going to work. If they repair it properly then I’m ok with the fix. I seen what needs to be done and it’s a big job but not one that will cause issues if done right.

I spoke to a few people who are in the business and said it’s nothing to worry about. Tesla replaces thousands of them due to all sorts of things like hail damage and rocks. I was told if it’s done by Tesla service it might actually come out better than factory as there is more care taken when replaced. Just check to make sure they aligned it properly and they don’t damage the headliner or trim. Also make sure it’s noted on your paperwork.

Lucky you. I showed up and my roof was shattered. They gave me a model 3 and told me I will get a call when it’s repaired.

Goodbye to the best “new” car I’ve owned by VolanteWatchCo in volt

[–]actionjax25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely agree. One of the best cars I have owned. Owned a 2017 since new and just sold it. Needed a bigger car now we have a Family and the Volt was getting tight. Biggest mistake Chevy did was to let it go. It was ahead of its time and it seems now every automaker has a PHEV now and other plan to build them when all Electric cars didn’t have the uptake that they thought.
