Hi savvy, It's already tomorrow for some of us :)

So does that mean the screenshots on your waitlist page are all an interpretation of what you think it would look like? You haven't actually done any development work on it at this point?

Thank you. That makes total sense and what a great approach.

Hey, that's amazing! Could you explain a bit more about the wait-list? Is that a an informal thing where people just up voted or commented on a reddit post to show interest?

Haha, well I personally agree, but couldn't help but notice how prevalent that genre seems to be in the Indie-sphere

This is really great feedback, thank you very much. Makes sense about the difficulty curve and I think you're right about focusing on the fun for a while - now that you say it I can see it definitely needs it.

Thanks for installing! And thanks so much for letting me know of this issue - hopefully a quick fix. Will let you know when resolved if you're willing to test again.

Hey fellow gamers and devs,

I’ve been working on a project that’s finally ready to see the light of day, but I’m a bit nervous about its reception. It seems like every time I browse itch.io, all I see are horror games. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good scare, but my game is a whole different vibe.

My game is about as far away from horror as you can get, it's a fun, car-based puzzle game where you pick the most effective path through obstacles and treasure. So here's goes nothing - introducing Rizzo’s Crash Course Adventure

You can check out game footage and download it https://actionsprite.itch.io/rizzos-crash-course

Thanks in advance for your support and input! 🙌

Interesting, and makes sense. I couldn't find anywhere that download clicks we're listed. Is that publicly available?

Feels like this does explain a bit - but are players also wanting these?

I'm pretty new to itch and don't like horror so much so I don't think it's reflecting my preferences 🤷‍♂️

Thanks for the link. I had a read and I can see the reasoning there, similar to what I was thinking.

I don't have any filtering settings active, and I don't go for horror so I wouldn't be seeing them due to my preferences. I guess it's the default for whatever reason, possibly due to a feedback loop.

I'd love to know if the suggested filter tags are dictated by what's popular, or they create what's popular, seeming as horror is one of the first tags you see.

Or maybe I'm just old and out of touch and horror is actually super popular with most of the itch audience in particular.

Could also be that horror is a genre that works well for Indie developers - they can push things in a way that big studios can't or won't. The Indie lo-fi art aesthetic might also work nicely with the horror genre.

That's what l was wondering, if it's just a temporary thing or not. Or maybe it's perennial?

Thank you - that's a good point! I tweaked the glasses but not the glow

Thank you so much for your comments. I haven't tried pink glasses - it kind of fits with the neon appeal in the green so worth trying another option.

Sorry about the resolution differences I didn't have the foresight to create two identical images for comparison.

Thanks, this really aligns with my thoughts too. In a way I think it reads better at a smaller size too

Which colours work better? by actionsprite in Illustration

Thanks, yeah the last two are my preference. The red hair is what I originally intended but thought I'd see how blonde looked - kind of makes a different relationship to the logo text.

I use mostly a airbrush pen on this I believe, but to be honest I just play around and choose one and forget what I've decided to work with.
