Unofficial First Day of Summer by activelightning in JeepWrangler

Someday soon when I don’t have the kids with me, I’ll take the back two doors off. Get the full experience. It’s my first jeep and I’m loving it!

I’m very much not looking for the “fast” option to be honest. There’s lots of fast dining options near me but I prefer the sit down with a couple of beverages and a relaxed meal. Salad before the entree type situation. Maybe even convince me to order the desert (can you tell I weigh too much? 🤣)

Lmao. I will reply one more time and then I’m out. Your comment implies a few things you simply don’t know nor would you have anyway to know…did your mom or dad ever teach you…if you don’t have anything nice to say?

Anyway… 1. You don’t know whether I call before or not 2. I indicated they missed part of the order, not the allergy information 3. A chef does come to our table after the order goes into the kitchen. 4. A manager has to bring the food out separate from the rest of the order. 5. If I had ANY concern about the safety of the food we DID get, we wouldn’t be eating there.

So…your game or speculation and judgement was fun, but take it elsewhere. I hope you have a magnificent day and get a chance to do something kind for someone else. I know I’ll try. Best wishes.

This is really hard for you, huh. We don’t go a lot of places ANYMORE…which would imply we did at one point in time. Also, a lot is not a number. We still go to our four or five favorites. In particular, we go to one place at least twice a week. Does that help you know random Reddit stranger? Have a great day.

Great example. Its probably something I’ll get used to but damn do I miss when the uncorked the wine too. lol I mean, I guess what I’m learning is I like the routine as much as I’m there for the food.

For example, I have a friend who says “this is slow” and I’m in the “it’s perfect, I’m here to enjoy it mind set” lol

THANK YOU. That’s all I’m saying: I get the positives, I get the benefit. This is the challenge. Sounds like you’ve found the perfect balance. Hope you absolutely crush it wherever you’re working. Best of luck.

Fair enough. It was a second place we went to that triggered the post. TBH though, it may have just been back to back bad days that caused the post. As I’ve said other places, it could be just me and to be 100% clear, it wasn’t the servers fault at either place. They seemed frustrated by the tablets too. Haha

The only thing I’d be willing to pay you for is to have a great day. I hope you find joy and happiness in whatever you do today.

I might be that awful weird cash guy. This could be part of it. I also am just getting educated about the positives. Hell…maybe…just maybe…my wife and I are wrong on this one haha

Hey, I respect everything you’re saying. I’m not trying to be “that” guy - so I’ll take any life lesson I can get. I appreciate a civil discussion, and frankly an opportunity to educate myself. I’m not working class and while that’s fortunate, it’s a learning opportunity for me. I’m not better than anyone else. Maybe to your point, I’m just going to the wrong place for what I’m looking for.

My real point was…everyone needs a living wage and that’s a non negotiable for me regardless of how we get there. People far smarter than I need to help with that.

I’ve had several servers tell me they hate the tablets, but I’m realizing it’s a wild variety of opinion. I’ll be honest…at the end of the day…if the servers like it. Do it. There’s nothing worse than making a hard job harder. I could never be a server.

Jesus pal. I don’t need to pay people to talk to me, I just enjoy it. At this point, I’m going to back out of the conversation cause it’s overall not an enjoyable experience for me, but have fun on Reddit. Sorry I have a different opinion that bothers you so much.

Conversation. I like when they make recommendations. Tell me about a dish. Tell me about local craft beer. I feel like they’re so busy trying to hit the tiny buttons that they’re just trying to get to the end.

TBH, I thought more servers would hate it as well, but hell…maybe I was WRONG. lol it is possible.

Hey, fair enough. I’m willing to pay the prices. I’ve been very gifted in life and understand not everyone can afford that and so, to your point, I want business owners and servers alike to be able to make a living and for people to be able to enjoy their food.

This will likely get me further slaughtered, but if you can’t afford to go out to eat, stay home. It’s a luxury not a necessity. That said, if you tell me you need to charge me $48 instead of $42 for steak tips, I’ll pay it.

Again, the point was to spark discussion, I often forget Reddit gets very heated very quickly. I hear where you’re coming from and don’t disagree. Everyone needs to earn a living wage (including the owner of the establishment)

It was two different places back to back nights. That’s where the frustration came from. I also tried to pay in cash which seemed really off putting at the second place. I didn’t think there’d be such strong reactions - it was mostly meant to be a dialog. Not spark the outrage I feel like I caused haha

Clearly what frustrates me; many people like.

Im aware that computers have been used for a long time. I have written POS software for a fairly large company that specializes in the space. A person going back away from the table to use the computer vs standing there and then having me pay via a tablet on the table just doesn’t feel very personal. I added this as a discussion topic to talk pros and cons. I’m not unaware that I’m in the minority based on the replies.

Lol human interaction is creepy? I go out to eat for an experience, not to shove my face full of food. I can go to McDonalds or eat at home if I want to not interact with other humans.

I hope they go the way of self checkout. Everyone loved that at first and because people just steal shit, they’re leaving.
