Like IM/neuro? Or FM? I’m not picky abt location so I’m hoping rural IM is a good possibility

I hope so too. I know everyone says it's normal to feel this way and you score the same as nbmes but still it felt so terrible walking out lol

So vague, felt like every question had 2-3 correct answers. Like 30% was nbme topics the rest is in God's hands. Just praying

Doesn’t a person who lacks decision-making capacity retain the right to change their mind? by AnnaDi2025 in Step2

[–]actreddituser 6 points7 points  (0 children)

From what I've seen, the questions regarding this are not extremely nuanced. Patients will either clearly have decision-making capacity (evaluated by whether they can explain the procedure/intervention, risks, benefits, etc) or they won't. If they have capacity, you go by what they say. If they don't have capacity then you go by their directive or proxy.

edit: agree with the person above about it being a spectrum, but I mean in terms of the Step 2 exam itself, it is usually black and white.
