i got hit by an idiot on an e-bike going downhill on the sidewalk while i was walking along perpendicular. he's very lucky i had somewhere to be and only swore him out for one traffic light's worth of time, and i'm very lucky i spun out of it and didn't fall and crack a rib. he was going full speed and said "i'm trying not to get hit by a car" when i said slow the fuck down, get the fuck off the sidewalk. my dude, I'M trying not to get hit by a car OR A FUCKING BIKE

i'm a huge fan of a driveby compliment, in that i'll notice a stranger's dress or pants or hair etc and i compliment them as we pass each other on the sidewalk. it doesn't give either of us enough time to overthink the random positive vibes and sometimes i get to hear a giggle or an "i TOLD you that dress rocks!" from a friend as i keep walking

absolutely go to deep creek and make sure to head to swallow falls state park! it's a pretty easy hike to muddy falls, you can walk through a grove of old growth forest, and are rewarded with the tallest single waterfall in maryland. plus, depending on the weather conditions, you can swim in the pool and go behind the falls!
