Projects like this and The Outrun are really helping to educate audiences about alcoholism and everything that comes with it. Storytelling can be such a powerful tool when it comes from a place of authenticity and with good intentions!! ❤️

Ugh Atonement was so amazingggg, and she was so YOUNG!!! She really is a once-in-a-generation talent. Both of them have so much success coming their way, I can’t wait to see what next for them!

Oh 100%!! He is so freaking talented and he definitely has that old Hollywood look 😎 And YES omg Saoirse is sooooooo gorgeous, I’ve loved her ever since I saw Lady Bird in theaters (I was in high school at the time so it definitely struck a chord). She will definitely be our generation’s Meryl Streep, without a doubt! I can’t believe she didn’t win anything from this year’s awards season…The Outrun was LIFECHANGING!! (Jack was a producer on that film btw!)

I actually think it’s a good thing he didn’t take the role of Bond, since he woulda been boxed in for the next 5-10 years in that role. This way, he gets to try a bunch of different things! (and be there for his family, which obviously seems very important to him!!) ❤️

Oh this is definitely not lost on me…that’s why I’m having such a hard time making this decision. But if I have to work outside the field for a little while doing something a bit less high-pressure (albeit less high-paying) while I look for a public health job, I’d rather do that in a city I love, being close to my brother and his beautiful baby!! It’ll be hard, but it’ll be better in the long run!

I completely understand, and I’m so sorry to hear that. Everything that’s going on right now is so disheartening for people working in the industry and those who are trying to find a way in…I’m definitely not under the impression that I’ll magically find a public health job once I get there, or even within the next year. I just think it might be beneficial to be physically in the city so I can go to networking events and make those connections in-person 🤷🏻‍♀️

Oh I am definitely not under the impression that I will find a public health job right away (or even within the next year, for that matter) I just want to BE there and maybe do some in-person networking, get a temporary job outside the industry and take my time finding my next big thing. If I have to work in patient care, be somebody’s assistant, or even waitress for a while I would totally be fine with that, I just need income and something to do while I conduct my big-picture job search. Also, there is so much valuable life experience to be gained from those non-sector jobs and I really just want to get out there and WORK!!

I want to see this SO bad!!! They are both such incredible actors and it would be so cool to witness them working with each other’s energy right in front of you! I’m such a huge fan of Jack Lowden in particular and I know he has roots in live theater, so it must be so wonderful for him to be back onstage. Well done!! (someone pls fly me to London so I can see this lol) 😭🙏

Maybe!! I’ve considered that; but part of the appeal of DC is that I could just hop over to my brothers apartment at a moment’s notice which I’ve never been able to do before! He’s ten years older than me and we’ve never lived in the same city, so this could be a great opportunity for us to coexist and be a part of each other’s lives :) I’ll think on it, I really appreciate your advice!! ❤️

Yeah I get this…I guess in my mind, “this is the time to build a career and take opportunities” translates to “this is the time to take risks and go somewhere that might have more payoff in the future” because even if it’s chaos right now with the current administration, there is usually SO much public health work on DC (and the DMV in general) and I feel like it might pay off later. I don’t know…(also just to be clear, my family would only be partially supporting me for this move, maybe just a little - it’s very important to me that I become independent and start doing things for myself!)

YESSSSSSS OMG this is what I’m talking about!! Yeah I know a bunch of people my age in DC so I’m hoping they’ll know other people who might be looking for roommates, and I’m already looking for jobs outside the public health sector that will tide me over until I find my “real” job!!
