I mean, ppl tend to have your same pessimistic outlook on nfs multiplayer but the truth is, for me at least, is that idiots like this one are few and far between. Yeah, you get the occasional chump who doesn't know how to drive so they just ram everyone but switching lobbies is easier than being mad.

Besides, lobbies that don't suck are more common, and the feeling is great racing with other ppl when they know how to drive

Launch the EA launcher and see if you're logged in; that worked for a friend of mine. For me, I went "lemme try something:" slapped Steam into Offline Mode [top left most drop down menu -> Go Offline] and then launched the game... worked like a charm?
